For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
1 Thessalonians 5:9-11
Deacon Freddie J. Anderson and Family
A family is made of love
and tears, laughter and
years. It grows stronger with the passing
of time. More precious with the making
of memories.
In Honor of My Mother Jean Sydnor
By Donna Waddell
Of all the special joys in life, The big ones and the small,
A mother’s love and tenderness Is the greatest of them all.
Bertha Mable Stamps Brandon June 21, 1924 – October 17, 2008
In Memory of the Mother of the Church
Mrs. Nora Carter Stamps
Mother of Alberta Lea, Dorothy Booker and Melvin and Gladys Stamps
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. Philippians 4:8-9.
In Memory of Our Daughter Stephanie Saunders
Honoring Our Son Gary Saunders
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17
James and Audrey Saunders
Deacon John Weldon McCain John Weldon McCain, is the son of the late Deacon Robert Garfield and the late Deaconess Violet Mayola McCain. John is the husband to the late Ester Yvonne Williams McCain, when at her passing they were joined here on earth lovingly for 36 years.
John was a Vietnam Veteran as he proudly served in the United States Army.
John joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church when he was young and remained a dedicated and faithful member until God summoned him home on August 3, 2011. Over the years he served in many capacities. John was chairman of the Deacons’ Ministry, a member of the men’s ministry, a Vacation Bible School teacher, a teacher and Superintendent of Sunday
School, and a member of the male chorus. Most importantly John possessed boldness and a voice for the people of Mt. Zion and for Christ, which would only be silenced by God.
In the short time God blessed us with John he lived a life full of service to GOD. He worked to make his community a better place by volunteering at the Ringgold Fire Department to the extent he was voted Fireman of the Year by his peers, and received the department’s Emergency medical Technician (EMT) Award both in 2008 and 2010. Posthumously, members of the Ringgold Fire Department named the annual EMT award and the John McCain EMT Award in his honor. John was hugely active in the voter registration efforts, and a faithful blood donor with the local Donor Center. John served as past president of the Men’s Ministry of Baptist General Convention of Virginia. John was a dedicated member of and past Division Chairman of United Steelworkers
Local 831. John was Worship Master of Danville Royal Lodge #104. John was a past Layman President and Trustee President of the Cherrystone Missionary Baptist Association. John lived a life of service and of one that you knew he loved GOD and people. John’s selfless desire to help others is the quintessence of the virtue of charity.
I Corinthians 13:13 (KJV) And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three;
but the greatest of these is charity.
Sherman, Tyronza and Shermiya Woodson

“Beloved Mother”
Mrs. Pollie Davis Murrell
A Beloved Mother And Very Best friend, Dearest of all people, with a love that knows no end.
A playmate to her Children's Children, She's both Grandma and a Friend.
Full of Childhood memories at the park and beach, So fond and true all within our minds reach. Blessed with beauty and an innocent heart,
She is Fairest of God's most exquisite art. A Daughter, a Sister, a Wife and a Mom, The Bride of Christ she has now become.
Her purpose fulfilled, and Her Legacy Left, Again we will see her, and be no longer bereft.
Rev. Frank & Mrs. Christine Womack
From the early years to their end, they were devoted to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
Carolyn Jean Bowe Robertson November 9, 1952 – June 28, 2006
I can remember that call on June 28, 2006 just like it was yesterday. It was
5:15 am and I was getting ready for work. When I heard your ringtone I
figured you were calling me to chat like we always did every morning before I
went to work. I never would have thought in my wildest dreams that call
would be any different…
Eight years have passed and I still miss our daily chats. You were the first
person I called whenever something happened (good or bad) in
my life. We talked about everything and no matter how serious our
conversations got, we always ended up laughing before the end of the call.
I remember how I would tease you about how hard you were on me as a child, however, I noticed that once I
became an adult, you never questioned. You allowed me to be me and you were my biggest supporter.
I still have the card and letter you have me on my 25th birthday. The front of the card said “for My Daughter,
I’m So Proud of You.” In the letter you told me that from the day I was born, you knew I would be your “go
getter”, always accepting a challenge.” You also wrote “I haven’t and couldn’t give you everything that you
wanted or needed in life but all I had to offer was my LOVE.” Mom, I want you to know that because of
YOUR LOVE I was able to learn about the goodness of Jesus…because of YOUR LOVE I was able to realize
that He watches over me…because of YOUR LOVE I never gave up even though I was called names and talked
about…because of YOUR LOVE I was able to know that God doesn’t put more on me than I can bear…because
of YOUR LOVE I know whose I am and who I am…because of YOUR LOVE I am able to love and be loved.
Your LOVE saved me and for that I say thank you. Thank you for giving me the BEST of YOU!
Love Your Baby, Tressy

In Loving Memory Your life was a blessing, Your memory a treasure.
You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure
No farewell words were spoken No time to say good-bye You were gone before we knew it And only God knows why, Our hearts still ache in sadness And secret tears till flow, What it meant to lose you No one will ever know Love, Your Wife and Family

God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that
there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same
judgment.
1 Corinthians 9-10
