BUILDING A BETTER WORLD
Committed to Building a Better World
Wet Infrastructure
MWH is a full-service global consulting,
engineering and construction company
which is driving the “wet infrastructure”
sector globally.
Wet infrastructure encompasses a
full range of diverse services, from
water supply, treatment and storage
to water resources management
and coastal restoration; from design
and construction of hydropower
and renewable energy facilities to
a full range of environmental and
sustainability services; from design
and construction of waterways, ports
and harbour facilities to transportation
solutions and planning.
Multi-sector innovation
Our work is based on a desire to
stay at the forefront of new
developments and to regard
innovation as an actual purpose.
MWH provides a full range of
consulting and technical multi-sector
services including energy, waste,
urban development, sustainable
development, transportation,
international development and
institutional capacity building to
industrial, municipal and government
clients all over the world.
We fully understand the pressures
and challenges that have to be taken
into consideration when developing
unified and sustainable industry
infrastructure strategies.
Unrivalled heritage
Established in 1844, MWH is now
one of the largest employee-owned
environmental services firms in
the world. Trust and integrity
underpin everything we do. We have
pioneered many water and energy
based technologies, including the
development of the first large-scale
process for purifying municipal
wastewater and, more recently, the
design of the Panama Canal expansion
which will be delivered by 2014.
Innovation has always been key to our
success, and MWH has continued to
work on some of the largest and most
significant wet infrastructure projects
in the world.
Local power with international backup
Headquartered in Broomfield,
Colorado, we have offices in 34
countries employing approximately
7,000 staff on five continents.
International technology, regional
knowledge and local skills are
combined in a global network which
MWH has a respected brand that goes back 160 years, providing expertise and world class engineering consultancy
across water, energy, waste and infrastructure.

practices should promote sustainable
development in the economy,
environment and society. This is why
we conduct and support educational
outreach programmes designed to
address climate change and encourage
sustainable practices. We have an
embedded Corporate Responsibility
Policy and our own Climate Change
Commitment to further reduce our
company’s carbon emissions.

environmental issues or cause pollution.
We work closely with our industrial
clients operating, among others, in the
metallurgical, manufacturing, cement,
oil & gas, pharmaceutical, chemical
and petrochemical sectors and help
them solve issues related to the
nature of their business.
Our clients often face stringent
regulations concerning energy
efficiency as well as safety, emissions
of hazardous substances, prevention of
soil contamination and the clean-up of
industrial estates.
MWH supports its clients by providing
advice and conducting studies aimed
at preventing or limiting environmental
damage and improving energy
efficiency and consumption.
