My tribe & regionHi! My name is Hania. It means

Yakama) tribe. We live along the Columbia and Yakima Rivers.

Our Tribe population is around 1200 total.

Hi! I’m so excited! we are going to do a summer hunting trip, we use portable hide teepees. I have been longing to get out of my pit house which is an earth lodge.

We live in Plateau region so we have rivers, forests, mountains and canyons. We use canyons to hunt for most of the time. one time rock fell from high mountain and scared me for earthquake. My region is prone to earthquakes.

Journal Entry #3 Summer(weather)

It’s so hot, I am thirsty need some water. Look, a nice river with lots of water, let me get some water. In winter I can’t even get to that river because of cold and snow. Oh, I am so tired. Let me take my afternoon nap under that big tree.

Journal Entry #3 Summer(weather impact)

We have a lots of food because we have 6 months of growing season, and we save food for winter. My favorite season is summer for hunting and fishing.

Journal Entry #3 Summer(strategy)

We use canoes for fishing. We also use bow-arrows, and trained dogs for hunting. I love my dog and he stays with me on my hunting trips. My dog is a good helper and hunter.

additional elks this summer! We have started getting horses from Europe which are big help for travelling on hunting trips. We have a lot of food for the winter (including my four elk hunts) and so far I think we are going to be fine. I have not seen any bad weather in months so that is good.

I had some trouble finding reliable resources but I did good. I think I’m going to have a good grade because I have included lots of information from my research on Yakima Tribe. It was good learning experience about Yakima Tribe. Now I know lots of facts on how the Tribe lived and survived. Not to mention, I really had fun making animations for this presentation.
