Prof. Charanjit Singh Shah is an architect, planner & infrastructure expert with fivedecades of practice. He is an author, scholar, educationist, teacher, art & architecturecritic practicing sustainable green architecture. His works speak of his contribution looking beyond architecture & development of largeinfrastructure projects like Airports, Metro, Railway station, Transit Orient Development,Inter Modal hub & creating Sustainable, Walk-able, Cyclable neighborhood & creatingIndian sustainable Smart Cities of tomorrow. He is being adorably called as 'AIRPORTKING.' Few of his milestone projects include Chennai Airport, Amudham Dairy Complex, NCUIInstitutional Complex, Raipur Airport, Goa Airport, Vadodara Airport, AgartalaAirport, Bhubaneshwar Airport, Charbagh Railway Station, Kota Railway Station,Times Square Mall in Naya Raipur, GEMS School Kochi, IIM Ranchi, IIT Jodhpur, andKongu Convention Center, Tamil Nadu and the recently executed Kartarpur LandportTerminal at Dera Baba Nanak inaugurated by Shri Narendra Modi in November 2019. Dr. S.S. Bhatti has been tempted to call Prof. Shah the 'Patrick Geddes of India' increating Sustainable Architecture. Recently, his works and legacy of past 50 years hasbeen published in the national monthly Architecture + Design December Issue. Prof. Shah has also successfully initiated Smart Habitat Foundation – a center ofexcellence in pursuit of art and architecture, urban planning, transport and infrastructure– a platform where academicians and practitioners come together to interact in form of aserious dialogue bridging the gap between academics and practical application.
