The NetProcessor™ 9030/40 from Harmonic is an advanced MPEG-2/MPEG-4 AVC SD/HD transport stream multiplexer and processor possessing powerful function integration capabilities.

PartoftheNetProcessorfamilyofvideoandnetworksolutionsfordigitaltelevisionapplications,theNetProcessor9030/40isidealforbroadcasters,contentownersandnetworkoperatorslookingtomigratefromDVBASIlegacyenvironmentstoIP-basedinfrastructures,aswellasforlocalizingorremodelingcontent.Theplatform’smission-criticalcapabilitiesincludemultiplexing,remultiplexing,PSI/SIprocessing,transrating,splicing,datainjection,adinsertion,andthescramblingofhundredsofservicesreceivedanddeliveredoverDVBASIandtelecominterfaces.TheNetProcessor9030/40canalsofunctionasabandwidthmanager,withtheHarmonicFlextream™hybridremotemultiplexingtechnologyprovidingtheabilitytocombinelocalorgeographicallydistributedencodersinthesamepoolwithincomingtransratedprograms.

Inadditiontoitsremultiplexingcapabilities,theNetProcessor9030/40canbehaveasaDVB-T2gateway.ThesystemcanencapsulateamultiplexintoaDVBT2-MIstream,providingsignalization,transmissionandsynchronizationparameterstoDVB-T2modulators,whichoffersadeterministicwayofbuildingthefinalbroadcastsignalinaDTTVSFNenvironment.Inversely,theNetProcessorcanreceivemultipleT2-MIstreamsattheinput,de-encapsulateeachPLP,andmaketheresultingmultiplexesavailableforprocessing.

NetProcessoralsofeaturesHarmonicSingleFeed™technology.MultiplexescanbebuiltinDTHformatandconverteddeterministicallybytheHarmonicRD1100IRDintoaT2-MIstreamforDTTSFNtransmission.SingleFeedisaverycost-effectivesolution,enablingmultiplexgenerationtosupportbothDVB-T2andDTHdistribution.Thisisofparticularinterestincountrieswithpoorterrestrialcoverage.
