Rockey4ND dongles We are using Rockey4ND Dongles for one-computer versions. These new dongles doesn´t require separate installation disc, the installation will start automatically when dongle is attached first time to the computer. Just attach the dongle and wait until the light stops blinking.

Sentinel dongles Old type dongles (Sentinel) will still work on TrailerWIN and they don´t need to be switched, both versions dongles are supported and can be used on same computer. However these Sentinel keys need a separate driver that can be downloaded from our homepage www.trailerwin.com under the button “Support-Drivers”. Use this driver on both updating on old computer and installation on a new PC. Please note that sometimes the installation of a new driver requires you to restart the computer.

License & Use of software You may use the TRAILER CONSULTATION Computer Software on one or more computers in one office or in one factory area. You may use the TRAILER CONSULTATION Computer Software on a computer network when the network is working only in one office or in one factory area. Usually the printout text shows the licensed owner and user of the software. All other use, on other companies, addresses, locations strictly forbidden ! You may not make any changes or modifications to this or any of the TRAILER CONSULTATION Computer Software or databases. You may not decompile, disassemble, or otherwise reverse engineer the TRAILER CONSULTATION Computer Software. You may not rent or sell or lease or copy it to anyone.

Important Notice for TrailerWIN Setup If you see an error message during the first part of installation that says “file operation with *.DLL file cannot be made” the problem is likely to be the level of user access (Administrator rights). (Please note the error message can differ depending on your operating environment.)

In some cases, installation of TrailerWIN to Windows Vista, Win 7, Win 8 & Win 8.1 or Win 10 operating environments can occur only if you are logged on as Administrator.

Hard Disk Space needed for TrailerWIN There are many improvements in this version of TrailerWIN compared to previous versions of the program. New models of trucks and extra equipment have been added to the program. Consequently, the size of the TrailerWIN data files has grown and they will take up more space on the hard disk of your computer. It is recommended that you have at least 10 GB of free space on the hard disk before installing the TrailerWIN. Please note that if your hard disk is almost full it makes your computer slow and unstable.

Installing the new update disc When there is a DVD ROM in the DVD-drive the setup program starts automatically. If automatic start from DVD-rom is restricted, please find setup.exe on DVD-rom drive and double-click or choose run - <Drive>\Setup.exe:

For more information, see Quick Install Guide.

Installing on computers without DVD-rom TrailerWIN can now be installed on computers running on Windows Vista, Win 7, Win 8 & 8.1 and Win 10 platforms. The installation can be performed from memory card to computers without DVD-rom. Please contact your dealer to change the installation media from DVD to Memory card. An extra fee will be added to update price due to higher cost of USB-memory cards.

Note that You can´t install TrailerWIN on computers running on Windows RT version.

New link to Hiab CStab Web App For Hiab dealers there is a new function to launch CStab, the new CStab is a Web application that is running on C-office website. The new link is sending all the needed information directly to the web-app and then launching CStab on Hiab C-Office website (authorization required). This means that users do not have to install C-Stab locally on their computers anymore. This new link is available on TrailerWIN version 2016-03 and onwards and because in launch-time the Hiab software wasn´t yet ready the link to the Desktop-application will be available during a limited time as well.

New SCANIA 2018 Group

Group: SCANIA data 2018

When selecting SCANIA 2018 -> models You will get more information to select. Now You also have to choose the engine-type and frame type from lists. You also have possibility to give lift-axles on chassis and to give extra devices weight on front- and rear axles to better meet the correct weight on customer truck. Please also note that files saved with a Scania truck on version 2018-01 will give error when opened in an earlier version of TrW. We strongly recommend to update to the latest version as soon as possible to avoid problems.

Choosing the truck model is started with menu's from up to down and left to right. For example in the following order: 1. Model series and Axle configuration 2. Cabin model series and engine size ( S13 means S type cabin, 13 litre engine) 3. Engine type 4. Chassis height / suspension 5. Frame type 6. Cabin version (more cabins in cab-window) 7. Gearbox type 8. Wheelbase 9. Specify liftaxles (e.g. 2,3 for more information see liftaxles) 10. Front axle type 11. Rear axle & final drive 12. Extra weight on front axle 13. Extra weight for rear axle (these can be used for extra devices ordered on the truck to correct weight)

It is important to choose these in this order, because the choices made in the top menus will change the possible options in dropdown-boxes below and filter out the selections. For help on selections you can click on the “?”-mark to get a window with explanations for models. Allowed weights: Allowed front axle weight, allowed rear axle weight and allowed total weight are defined by chosen axles, unless the common allowed weights are limiting the weights. For example: If You choose 21000 kg rear axles and your Trailerwin is set on EU-regulations, the weight will be limited to allowed rear axle weight: 19000 kg. If You want to use this greater value 21000 kg, You will need to type it manually in field "G.V.W. rear axle".

Some additional data can be modified by clicking button:

Better support for ultra-wide screens In release 2017-07 we have increased compatibility with ultra-wide screens. This to avoid program crash with ultra-high resolution screens. Changes have been made in TrailerWIN, CraneWIN and FrameWIN, if you still face problems, please report these to us.

Default file extensions In release 2018-01 we have added default file extensions to saved and opened program files. You can anyhow choose to show only “*.dat” or all files “*.*” . The default file extensions are:

• TrailerWIN .trw • FrameWIN .frw • CraneWIN .crw • CornerWIN .corw • BrakeWIN .brw

With this we believe it will be easier to separate file types from each other.

New program features TrailerWIN

Lift axle function in TrailerWIN In release 2018-01 you will find a new feature for calculating weight and turning with axles lifted. You can also switch into CornerWIN and do turning simulations with axles lifted. This feature works for rear axles on trucks, full trailers and semitrailers on both first and second trailer. For centre axle trailers you can use this function only for first trailer and turning calculation is possible only in TrailerWIN.

To use this function, first select a truck (or trailer) and in chassis data window give lift-axles separated with comma starting with first rear axle. The axle numbers are calculated from first front axle so for a 3 axle truck the first rear axle will be “2”. If we for example have a 4-axle truck with first and last rear axles steered we will give lift axles: “2,4”. When we then check the checkbox we can see a calculation with axles lifted.

To make the turning simulation with lifted axles, simply specify the lift axles in TrW and check the “Axle lifted” checkbox.

When moving into CornerWIN the lifted axle situation will be automatically set so you can do turning simulations directly with lifted axles in CornerWIN. Please note that if you have selected a center axle trailer you are not able to simulate axle lifted in CornerWIN. For such combination you can also see turning picture in TrailerWIN.

Corner clearance for centre axle trailers In release 2018-01 we have added a warning for center axle trailers if the corner distance is below 250mm. Please note that TrW can´t recognize all situations and especially when there is a full body on truck&trailer and cooling machine or other device at front of the trailer it is a big risk that corners can touch if the combination is driving downhill onto a flat surface on a turn.

Menu’s will open full sized in TrailerWIN In release 2017-07 the menu´s for chassis & trailer data will open up full size, with this it will be easier to find & change data. The User-Option menu will also open up full size.

Saving BEP-codes from TrailerWIN calculation into text—file You can save the BEP-codes with values into a text-file using the MEMO-function. In MEMO you will find a new option in menu “Document” -“BEP codes”. By clicking this option you will get a list with BEP-codes and values, these can be saved into a text-file by using the “File”-“Save As” function in Memo. This file can be used for external applications to read in data from a TrailerWIN calculation. Note that this file will grow with new codes in the future so internal order of codes will change when new data is added.

Default file extensions for TrailerWIN files *.trw In version 2018-01 the default file extension for saving/opening TrailerWIN calculations will be “.trw”. By opening the dropdown-list you can filter also “.dat” files or select to save/open files with any other file-extensions by selecting option All files *.*

With this it will be possible to select default program for files of type .trw in Windows. This will give possibility to open a calculation directly from the file-explorer without first opening TrailerWIN. For instructions on how to set up default programs, please look for “setting up default programs in windows” on the Internet or in Windows help-function.

Move tipping cylinder with dx- and dy- measures In TrailerWIN we have added possibility to move tipping cylinders in height direction by giving dy-measure. A positive value moves the tipping cylinder upwards and a negative value moves the cylinder down.

For front tipping gear we have also added the possibility to move the cylinder backwards into the tipping body. This is useful when the front tipping cylinder is built within the tipping body:

Trailer frame overhang automatically shortened when tipper on trailer. If the trailer has a tipper, the trailer frame will be automatically shortened to tipping axle for more accurate illustration.

Cooling machines for trailers The illustration for cooling machines on trailers have been improved. Instead of a square box the illustration for cooling machine in turning picture is now drawn with cut corners if the corner length measure is given other from length of the cooling machine. The corner length measure has been used in corner clearance also before so this change is only a change for better illustration of the cooling machine.

Updated Finnish regulations From version 2018-03 the Finnish regulations have been updated due to changes in regulations 2017. There has also been added more warning-texts and rules in the program.

Updated regulations for New Zealand From version 2017-05 onwards we have updated the NZ regulations to better meet the actual regulations. At the same time new warnings have been added.

Updated Swedish regulations incl. BK4 rules In version 2018-03 the Swedish regulations have been updated to meet the changed regulations 1.4.2018. This version includes also weights for BK4 regulations, the program still calculates for BK1 but weights for BK4 will be shown in info-window in lower left corner.

Norwegian rules added We have now added the most important Norwegian rules into TrailerWIN program. The weight tables for BK10-roads are used in the program. For the Norwegian market we have also built in special regulations for timber-transport vehicles up to 60t and 24m (trailer type Timber in TrailerWIN). If You need to get Norwegian rules in Your TrailerWIN, please contact your dealer for more information.

BEP-codes (ISO 21308-2, 21308-3), now with BEP-L011 (wheelbase to first driven axle) In release 2015-04 we have added the possibility to show BEP-codes on the TrailerWIN drawing. The BEP-code system makes communication between chassis manufacturers and bodywork manufacturers more clear.

From User options You can now select to show or hide BEP-codes and truck CoG arrow on the drawing. When BEP-codes are selected You will see the BEP-code for certain measurements on the drawing. The BEP-code system is on Beta-testing phase in TrailerWIN, therefore please report for any errors in BEP-codes.

From release 2016-02 we have added BEP-L011 (wheelbase to first driven axle).

Give position of towing bar in Y-direction From version 2015-08 You can now give the position of the towing bar in Y-direction. The value is calculated from the midpoint of the frame and a negative value moves the towing bar lower.

The radio-buttons for positions are still working as before.

New combinations B-Triple, AB-Triple, C-Train

Figure 1 B-Triple

Figure 2 AB-Triple

Figure 3 C-Train

In CornerWIN 2016-10 You can now find new pre-defined HCT-combination, you can do all turning calculations and simulations with all these combinations (static turning, 180° Australian Swepth Path etc). These combinations can be found with different options of steered/fixed axles.

When running simulations for combinations with 3 trailers the picture can be difficult to read. By increasing the redraw-rate in Options-menu You can adjust how often the combination will be drawn on the turning picture. For 3 trailer combinations a good redraw rate is 20-25, when default value is 15.

Truck & 2 axle Trailer with last axle steered A new model is added into CornerWIN library, now you can calculate a truck with trailer (=truck+dolly+semitrailer) with a steered axle. Steering geometry can be edited by changing wheelbase to turning centre.

Explanation for models in CornerWIN In the list You can find for example following model: “AB-Triple Combination 6x2 fff+ffs+ffs+ffs” where: - “AB-Triple Combination” = type of combination - “6x2” = axle configuration for truck - “fff+ffs+ffs+ffs” = axle type configurationo for trailer axles per group of axles where: “f” = fixed axle (non-steered) “s” = steered axle “+”= separator for next group of axles (on trailers the first boogie and second boogie also separated)

More editable data In CornerWIN You can edit more data for the vehicles, also for second and third trailer. This allows You to more easily build up desired vehicle configurations for turning simulations.

More information on drawing You can now also find more measures on the drawings as well as cross-marks showing boogie turning centers. With this it´s easier to check that the data given is correct.

Color outprints From version 2016-09 there is possibility to print turning picture and simulations in color outprints. In Print-window You can find the checkmark-box to print in colors.

Steering angles for all-steer simulations In version 2016-06 You will have possibility to show turning angles on all-steer semitrailers for all steering types. In the turning picture You will see the angle as an average angle for the axle.

Corner clearance calculation when towing coupling is behind the end of the body In CornerWIN from version 2016-03 there is now improved corner clearance calculation for situations where the trailer coupling is behind the body.
