North Carolina

North Carolina is

a state located beside Atlantic Seaboard in

the south eastern United States.

North Carolina has got a population of about 9,222,414 people.

The capital of the state is Raleigh, but the biggest city is Charlotte.

North Carolina has got three geographic

sections: the coastal plain, the Piedmont

region, and the Appalachian Mountains and

foothills.

• The western section of the state is part of the Appalachian Mountain range.

• One of the most important rivers in the state is Mississipi.

• The coastal plain is influenced by the Atlantic Ocean which keeps temperatures mild in winter and moderate in the summer.

• Piedmont has hotter summers and colder winters than the coast.

• The Appalachian Mountains are the coolest area of the state. The summers are relatively cool.

• North Carolina averages fewer than 20 tornadoes for year. Many of these are produced by hurricanes or tropical storms along the coastal plain.

• North Carolina has eight interesting villages with populations of more than 100,000.

• Charlotte, this city is situated in Mecklenburg County it has a population 671,588.

• Raleigh is in Wake County. It’s population is about 375,806.

• Greensboro is situated in Guilford County. It has a population 258,671.

• Winston-Salem, in Forsyth County, it has population of 224,889 people.

Durham, Durham County has a population around 222,472 inhabitants.

• Fayetteville, is situated in Cumberland County with a population of 203,100 inhabitants.

• Cary is in Wake County, its population is about 121,796 people.

• And finally High Point is in Guilford County and its

population is of 100,432 people.

• The principal and the most important sport in North Caroline is basketball.

• There are 48 basketball teams for men and 21 for women.

• In North Carolina there is 24 football teams.

• In this state there are 10 baseball teams.

• There are 6 tennis teams for men and four for woman

• North Carolina has eight soccer teams, four for men and four for women.

• The state has eight more teams of golf, four of men and four of women.
