Origami Loch Ness MonsterThe Loch Ness Monster is one of the most famouslegendary monsters of the world, and thousands oftourists visit Loch Ness, in Scotland, in the hope ofseeing it every year. Now you can make your ownorigami version!
You will need 3 pieces ofpaper: 2 the same size, and1 smaller piece (a quarter ofthe larger).
We will start with the head.With a large piece of papercoloured side down, fold inhalf along the diagonaland open out again.
Fold the corners into thecentre crease to form akite shape, as shown.
Fold the bottompoint up.
Fold the corners inagain, creasing well.
Fold in half alongthe centre crease.
Open the model out and tuck the headback in (reverse fold) along the creaseyou just made.
Shape the head by folding the point back in on itselfand tucking it in on itself. Add a googly eye ordrawer one on with felt tip pens. The head is done.
Start to form thehead by folding thetop point down atan angle.

Now make the body. Take another large pieceof paper, face up. Fold in half horizontally, bothways, then open up again and flip over.
Now fold in halfdiagonally both ways,and open out again.
Push the model in along the horizontal folds to form a triangular shape, asshown. Flatten.
Fold the top corner down a little way, and then fold it over again one more time.Crease well.
Use scissors to cut out the middle of thetriangle, as shown. You have made your body.

Use the small piece ofpaper for the tail. Withcoloured side down, foldin half diagonally.
Bring the cornersinto the centrecrease, as shown.
Fold in half alongthe centre crease.

Fold the bottom pointup.
Fold the lowercorners up again, justa little way.
Your finished monster will stand up by itself.
