PAINTED SHOES

Theodore Dragonieri Style

Recycling Old Shoes

How many times have you thrown away an old pair of shoes?

Instead of using traditional canvas for a painting, we are going to take an idea from Theodore Dragonieri and recycle old shoes!

Artist Research

Your shoe will be the canvas for a recreated masterpiece.

Using the books on the bookcase, you need to research an artist you enjoy with a style you can reproduce.

Fill out the research paper. Begin sketching ideas for your shoe!

Ready, Set, Go! Take the laces (if any) out of the shoe. Sketch out a few creative shoe painting ideas on

paper in the style of the artist you chose and when you feel comfortable with your image, transfer it onto the shoe.

You will need to sketch lightly on the shoe with a pencil first.

It’s a good idea to "prime" the surface with white paint before beginning.

You may add ‘appendages’ on your shoe to add extra interest to your masterpiece.

Now, when you are finished and all is dry, put the laces back in and admire your masterpiece.
