Parallelograms

• Definition of a Parallelogram– A parallelogram is a quadrilateral that has two

pairs of parallel sides.

Properties of Parallelograms

1. The opposite sides are equal in length.

2. The opposite angles are congruent.

3. The diagonals bisect each other.

Trapezium

• In geometry, a four-sided figure with one pair of parallel sides is referred to as trapezoid in American English and as a trapezium in British English.

The Full Circle

•A Full Circle is 360°

•Half a circle is 180°

(called a Straight Angle)

•Quarter of a circle is 90°

(called a Right Angle)

• The diameter of a circle is the length of the line through the center and touching two points on its edge.

• The distance across a circle through its center point.

• The radius of a circle is the length of the line from the center to any point on its edge.

Fractions

• A Fraction (such as 3/8) has two numbers: – Numerator is 3– Denominator is 8

• The top number is the Numerator.

• The bottom number is the Denominator.
