Visit the newly opened thrift shop at Mission of
Sts. Peter & Paul at Waimea Bay.
Now being sold are rosary beads, books,
religious items and novelties like cups and
flashlights reflecting religious pictures besides
clothing and bags.
For now, the shop is open only on Sundays after
Masses; however, because of the Craft Fair this
Sunday, December 17, they will be opened during
the duration of the fair.
The hours are limited on Sundays until they can
have more volunteers to help man the shop during
the week.
Pay them a visit as well as the newly painted
exterior of the church and well kept grounds.
MAHALO! The Outreach Ministry wants to say thank you
and with much appreciation the generosity and
kindness given towards the donations of gifts for
the Kupuna Christmas Party.

COLD AND FLU SEASON As always, you are reminded to use common sense
in the reception of Holy Communion from the chalice
during the annual cold and flu season. If you are feeling
ill or think you may have been exposed to a virus, you
should refrain from partaking of the Blood of Christ
from the communal chalice. In the same way, you
should refrain from offering your hand to others at
the sign of peace. A smile and a heartfelt “Peace be
with you” should suffice. Likewise, if you are not
comfortable sharing the sign of peace or receiving Holy
Communion from the communal chalice for fear of
infection, you should feel no pressure to do so. All of us
must be aware of such sensitive matters in the intimate
life of the Christian community and we should expect
that some will refrain from the sign of peace and the
communal chalice out of care for our well being and not
out of unkindness or a lack of piety.
Please be aware that the obligation to attend Sunday
Mass does not apply to those who are ill, especially
those who suffer from contagious disease. It is a sign
of consideration for oneself and others that those with
flu-like symptoms remain at home. OBITUARY: MAY THEY REST IN PEACE

A FRIENDLY REMINDER As the year comes to a close, correspondence
from the church will be sent out in January, 2018,
especially to those parishioners who are giving
donations through the church envelopes.
If you did not receive your 2016 tax
contribution letter in the mail, it may be because
we did not have your correct mailing address.
So many envelopes were returned. If you live in
the sugar mill camp area and only gave your
residence address, we need your post office box
number which is your correct mailing address. Please contact the church office if you were one
of the above or if you have moved and have a new
mailing address. Also, if you are not sure we have
your mailing address, kindly please let us know.
If you wish to have a church contribution
envelope, please contact the church office.
