My child is in the Support Unit, what days do they attend? Your classroom teacher will be in touch to confirm the following days:
Monday: Autism Class
Tuesday: MC Class
Wednesday: Senior Transition Class
Thursday: Applied Pathways Class
Friday: Junior IO Class
What will my lessons look like? When you attend, you will complete the same unit of work which has been
prepared for online learning at home. Teachers will not be creating separate
units of work for face to face delivery.
Classes will be divided into separate rooms depending on the number of
students who attend and the size of the room. Classes might have up to three

marked during all periods on Sentral and at the beginning of the day in the COLA.
Students in Years 7-10 will not be participating in any practical lessons. Please be
prepared to complete theory activities on Canvas and in workbooks. Students in
Year 11 may participate in practical lessons, but this is the classroom teacher’s
decision. Students in Year 12 will be participating in practical lessons.
All students will be required to line up outside of their classroom, following the
social distancing guidelines.
What do I need to bring? If you have a device, please make sure you bring your device, earphones and
charger as we do not have any spare devices or chargers for students in Years 7-
10. If you don’t have a device, you will need to bring your books, pens and
workbook packages you have been working from at home. Students are also
encouraged to bring their own hand sanitiser.
Are the buses running? Yes, buses are running. Students need to promote social distancing where
possible on buses. Students will be required to social distance when lining up and
moving to the buses at the end of the day.
Do I need to attend roll call? Yes! Roll call will be held in the COLA at 9am. All students are to line up in their English classes behind the markers on the ground. Roll call will be used to work out how many students in each class are present. After rolls are marked, students will be allocated a class group and room. Students will remain in the same classroom and desk all day.
What about roll call for seniors? Yes! Year 11 and 12 students are to line up in their English classes in the COLA at
9am to determine how many students are present. They will then go to their
normal Period 1 lesson on Thursdays. Rolls will also be marked on Sentral every
lesson. If their first timetabled lesson commences after recess they are to sign in
at the front office 10 minutes before their first timetabled period begins.
Can seniors leave after their last period? Yes. Seniors can leave after their last timetabled period. They must sign out
through the front office before leaving.
Will the senior study be open? Only on the designated Thursday for Year 11 & 12. The other days are a flexible timetable as published by Mr Allenby (see Appendix 2). Social distancing will occur.

Should I wear my uniform? Yes. Full school uniform is required. The uniform shop is currently closed, but
orders can be placed online. The shop will communicate a pick up time for you. It
is starting to get colder, so be prepared.
Will the canteen be open? No. Please ensure you pack food and drink for recess and lunch. You will not be
able to drink from the bubblers but will be able fill your drink bottle so
remember to bring one to school with you.
Will I be able to take my medication at school? Students who have completed the necessary paperwork will still be able to take
their required medication at school. Our First Aid Officer will be present 5 days
per week.
How will I know what rooms to go to? At the start of the day students will meet in the COLA for roll call and will be
told which room they will be in for the day. Students will remain in the same
room and same seat all day. At the start and end of each day, all students will
use disinfectant wipes and sprays provided in class to thoroughly wipe down
their table and chair.
Year 11 & 12 will attend their normal timetabled lessons and classrooms.
I’m in Year 11 or 12 and I don’t get to see all my teachers. What do I
do? Your teacher will be in contact with the class to arrange a suitable time when you can see them. This may be done in person, or via Teams/Zoom, or via phone or email. Please email your teacher if you would like to organise a time to meet with them.
What’s happening with assessment tasks? At this stage, all Year 7-10 assessment tasks have been put on hold. An updated
schedule will be provided to students when Phase 3 of the ‘Managed Return to School’ commences. Year 11 & 12 assessment tasks are proceeding as per assessment schedule. Your Deputy Principal and teachers will provide you with updated schedules if changes are required. Thursday afternoons have been allocated for catch up of assessment tasks that had to be postponed at the end of last term. This time has also been allocated to senior students to work on their major projects. Your relevant Deputy Principals are coordinating the Thursday afternoon schedule.
Year 12 refer to Appendix 1 for a timetable of classes/ major works and assessment tasks being conducted at BHS on site in Week 3 – starting Monday 11 May.
