Message from the Commander
Once again Thanksgiving is coming up this month. As always we will have
our Thanksgiving dinner for all our members. If you want to bring a
covered dish it is always welcome, please sign the sheet located in the
lounge and list what you would like to bring. Remember that we have our
Toys for Tots boxes set up in the lounge and we would like to see them
filled. Remember that our Dues will be increasing on January 1st and you
can save $10 on your membership if you renew now. Our Oktoberfest was
fun as usual and we had some great German food on hand. The DAV is
having a raffle for a cooler of cheer to raise funds for the annual ICON
dinner. Tickets are available in the lounge. Make sure you check the
bulletin board for all our upcoming events. Some of the ladies from our Auxiliary did a great job in
getting the hall ready for the annual Children’s Halloween Party, good job ladies in keeping our tradition
going. On November, 10th, we will be celebrating the Marine Corps 240th birthday, please come and join
us at the Post at 3pm and be part of our celebration. There will be hot dogs, and the traditional cake
cutting for all to enjoy.
For God, Country and Family.

1st Vice Commanders Report
Full Speed Ahead for Membership.
Membership still has a lot of work needed to assure our membership tops 100% plus one. As of today we are just
under 61% in membership, and growing in numbers every day with your help. By now you are aware that our
membership dues have gone up Nationally, State and at the Post level this January 2016. To avoid the increase in
your dues, save over 20% by sending in your dues today.
Membership is the responsibility of all of us in the American Legion Family on furthering our numbers. It never
hurts to ask your friends and neighbors to become a member of the Family.
Serving Veterans today for a better tomorrow.

Greetings Ladies!
Fall is here and it’s time for us to renew our dues in the Auxiliary. For the first time this year, we are
allowed to renew online. It takes a few minutes and saves us all time and money. Go to ALAFL.org and
follow the prompts to renew.
We still need more volunteers to work Bingo. Callers and Counters are both needed. It has been slow but
season is upon us and we will get busier. Please contact me if you’d like to help.
Our November meeting will be held on the Thursday, the 5th
at 7:00PM at the post. Please attend , we miss
you!!
