Why AI Latin SumMIT?

Supporting the development of Latin America through artificial intelligence

The Latin American community at MIT through this sumMIT aims to

catalyze a thriving AI ecosystem across the Latin America region for its

people and the overall development of the region.

We believe that if progress in adopting AI technologies in Latin America

and the Caribbean does not move faster, this could exacerbate existing

global inequalities.

● Understand the current state of AI in research, government and industry sectors in Latin American and the Caribbean

● Facilitate international dialogue and partnerships between government leaders, researchers, NGOs and industry in the region

● Motivate the deployment and development of AI research projects in Latin America and the Caribbean.

● Motivate key players in the region to execute AI initiatives developed at the sumMIT

● To openly publish the initiatives developed during the sumMIT to help in policy design in the region
