Design Sequence
Consistent with the approach statement, we have provided horizontal and vertical surveys of the study area.
Vertical Surveys were used to determine accurate dimensioning of the existing streetscapes so that new canopy elements and other street amenities could be included in the design solution.
Design Solution includes recommendations for parking, curbing, canopies, new intersection design, planting, lighting, and placement of street furnishings such as benches, trash receptacles, and supplemental lighting.
Supplemental lighting to be achieved lighting the undersides of new canopies.

Survey Results
As-built data revealed extent of damage to existing sidewalks and curbing.
Survey data allows for the design of new intersections and crosswalks, planting islands, streetlight locations, and parking.
Vertical Survey Data indicated design opportunities for activating second floor of most buildings at intersections with two story balconies over street arcade known as double gallery canopies.
Single Story Buildings received single story canopy treatment while two story buildings have all been studied as double gallery treatments.

We begin by choosing a “period” appropriate vernacular. In this case, we are referencing period photography of Perry, Tallahassee, and other regional references from about 1910-1940.
We are NOT attempting to recreate historic façades only emulate them. These are historical references NOT replications .
