– Arkansas Children’s (Has turned down the USAF for assistance because patients were not sent to their facility)
Strengths – Lack of competition, understanding the aeromedical and
medical aviation industry; past and current experience in the development of aeromedical services and a team that understands the concepts.
– Support from the USAF’s ECMO division; we will be first call for local and possibly international ECMO flights per conversation with Dr. Melissa Tyree (during connection initiated by the Pentagon. See enclosed report.
– We have exclusive representation for Med-Pac, Inc. a manufacturer of medical interiors and the designer of the first and only ECMO cart approved for aeromedical use (FAA STC)

Outcomes of patients supported with ECMO at ACH during 2005 are shown in the table below, as are comparative survival data from all ECMO centers internationally reporting to the ELSO Registry.

Advances in medical Transportation: Medical Conversions for Aircraft.– Benefits; medical aviation services no longer fully convert their aircraft for
medical purposes with a very few exceptions. The norm is to place a convertible unit that can be easily removed in 10 minutes or less.
Standards being adopted: Even though CAMTS and the AAMS affiliations are highly requested by medical centers before they contract with an aeromedical services, the costs associated are considerable and the benefits are low. Our own Latin American Association of Aeromedical Services provides the training, certification under the ICAO regulations and we are associated with Loyola Marymount University to provide Continuing Education credits.
– Benefits of CAMTS and AAMS, very low if we are going to deal directly with the interested medical facilities. We will affiliate if there is no choice.
Standards specifically being ignored: As above.– Drawbacks & benefits: Costs are very high vs. the benefit.
Involving the manufacturers of the various ECMO components we can propose to be their innovative global demonstrator in exchange for fully operational equipment and training which will help us achieve the worldwide exposure of the system, and its components.
Our International contacts in the Middle East are already waiting for this operation to start in order for them to develop their own systems with our help

ProceduresProcedures Air Ambulance Operations under part 135 are strict. More so is
the concept of specializing in neonatal, ECMO and pediatric missions due to the delicate nature of the patient.
A procedure Manual will be developed to indoctrinate, train and certify our Medical Crewmembers, from the Medical director to the maintenance department.
ECMO specialization will require a unique training program that will be provided by the Company and Loyola Marymount with experts from Stanford University and other local experts, contributing to the program.
The Certification process will include a complete aeromedical training program already used by Medical AirXpress under ICAO and FAA Guidelines and will be offered worldwide. No program of this nature exists at the moment.
