years. Since most of these components are
recyclable in nature, efforts will be made to
recycle it to the maximum extent, hence actual
waste generated as E-waste should be minimal.
It is estimated that from the project about 0.5-1
MT/yr E-waste will be generated.
Management of EManagement of EManagement of EManagement of E----wastewastewastewaste
The principle idea of E-waste management is to
recycle the E-waste generated. Authorized
vendors of electronic goods will take back their
old equipment/cartridge/toner rolls etc. and pay
some concessions on the new equipment. On
the other hand, reusable material like
cartridges/toners will be refilled and reused.
Outdated computers/ fax/ phones etc. will be
value added and sold to downstream uses
through resellers. These arrangements will be
made with existing CPCB authorized vendors to
simultaneously & effectively reduce the quantity
of E-waste generated and also to generate
substantial revenue for running the management
system. Whatever E-waste left, will be collected
separately in HDPE drums and will be stored in
special containments, onto puckka platforms
and under lock and key. The collected e –waste
will be handed over to the CPCB authorized
vendors.
Liquid Effluent:Liquid Effluent:Liquid Effluent:Liquid Effluent:
During construction phase, sewage will be
treated and disposed through soak pits via septic
tanks. During operation phase 733 KLD waste
water will be generated which will be treated in
the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) up to tertiary
level.
Dewatered/ dried sludge from STP will be used
as manure in horticulture.

The estimated quantity of excavated earth
material shall be utilized at site for the purpose of
back filling, green area development, and other
site development activities.

5.1 Emissions from combustion of fossil
fuels from stationary or mobile
sources
Yes There is no major air pollutant generating
source in this project except operation of D.G
Sets and vehicular movement. The emission of
gasses & Particulate Matter will be due to use of
diesel in D.G. set. The emissions from DG sets
shall be within MoEF limits. There will be
generation of noise from D.G. set but that will
be only during the time of power failure.
Moreover, D.G. Set / D.G. Set Rooms will be
provided with proper acoustic enclosure /

acoustic treatment that will mitigate the noise
up to a large extent.
During construction phase as well as during
commissioning phase there will be generation
of noise due to transport of vehicle. Better
maintenance and installation of proper
pollution control equipment will help to reduce
such emissions.
5.2 Emissions from production processes No Not applicable, as this is Group Housing Project
and there is not any production process.
5.3 Emissions from materials handling
including storage or transport
Yes Dust may arise due to the materials handling
during the construction phase which will be
restricted to the construction phase and
construction site only.
Dust emission will be prevented by regular
sprinkling of water and by providing tarpaulin
covers.
5.4 Emissions from construction activities
including plant and equipment
Yes Dust emission will be restricted to construction
phase and construction site only. The dust
emitted will be of negligible amount and will be
generated due to movement of the equipments.
Suitable preventive measures will be taken.
5.5 Dust or odours from handling of
materials including construction
materials, sewage and waste
Yes There is chance of dust emission during the
construction phase which will be prevented by
the sprinkling of water and covering the raw
material by tarpaulin cover.
Better sanitation facilities will be provided to
workers so that there will be no odour
generation. There would not be much impact
of noise due to operation of D.G. sets because
firstly they will be in use only during power
failure and secondly they be provided with
proper acoustic enclosure that will help in
mitigating noise up to a large extent. Moreover,
the green belt plantation will further attenuate
the noise level so the impact of noise due to
operation of D.G. set will be negligible.
5.6 Emissions from incineration of waste No Not applicable, as this is a Group Housing
Project and there will not be any incineration

6.1 From operation of equipment e.g.
engines, ventilation plant, crushers
Yes The machinery used for the construction activity
will be of high standard and of reputed make
and according to the international standards.
These standards themselves take care of noise
pollution control/vibration control and air
emission control. Hence insignificant impacts due
to construction machinery are envisaged. Apart
from this the construction activity will be carried
out in day time only.
During the operation phase of the project, the
noise emission is caused only due to DG sets
installed for backup power supply. As the DG
sets will be placed in an acoustic enclosure, hence
the noise generated meets the ambient standard
as per MoEF norms.
6.2 From industrial or similar processes. No Not Applicable
6.3 From construction or demolition No Due to the various construction activities, there
will be short-term noise impacts in the immediate
vicinity of the project site. The construction
activities will include the following noise
generating activities:
Operation of DG sets, concreting & mixing
Excavation for foundation and grading of the
site. Construction plant and heavy vehicle
movement. Construction of structures and
facilities.

6.4 From blasting or piling No No blasting or mechanized piling will be done in
construction phase.
6.5 From construction or operational
traffic
Yes Some noise will be generated from vehicular
movement in the construction and operational
phase. Every possible provision will be taken up
to avoid/minimize traffic chaos.
During construction phase noise will be
generated due to excavation machineries,
movement of heavy vehicles like trucks. In
Operational phase major source of noise is D.G.
set which will operate in case of power failure.
Increase in noise and vibration due to traffic of
project site will be marginal. Hence noise and
vibration due to traffic is not anticipated on the
project site. This will be minimized by plantation
along the roadside.
6.6 From lighting or cooling systems No Not envisaged.
6.7 From any other sources No There will be no other sources for noise &
vibration generation except the mentioned
above.

No waste water will be discharge outside the
project area.

not be any deposition of pollutants emitted to
air, land or water.
7.4 From any other sources No There will be no other sources which can
contaminate land & water resources.
7.5 Is there a risk of long term build up
of pollutants in the environment
from these sources?
No Likelihood of such an event is not foreseen till
now in the area and suitable measures will be
adopt to control and reduce emission, so that
there will be no such risk in the coming future.

No The entire building shall be designed as per
N.B.C. guidelines of India pertaining to fire
hazards. They will apply good construction
safety practices at the project. All precautionary
measures will be adopted and use of protective
footwear and helmet will be mandatory.
However, to meet out the minor incidences and
accidents first aid measures at site will be
provided.
Fire safety measures include Fire extinguishers,
Water tanks, Yard hydrants, hose reels,
automatic detection system, illuminated Exit

mentioned above.
8.3 Could the project be affected by
natural disasters causing
environmental damage (e.g. Floods,
earthquakes, landslides, cloudburst

No No cases are reported so far and chances are
minimal. The site is selected carefully keeping in
view all the factors to avoid any environmental
damage due to natural disasters. The project
area falls in Zone-IV of seismic Zoning Map of
India. The seismic factors have been
