Feedback from users

Effectiveness of Site

• Existing site is mostly a repository for downloadable documents

• Refresh will provide more of the Resource Recovery Guidelines upfront

New Tools (1)

NEW REBRI site organisation

Will be more around the: Plan, Do, Review idea:1) Assessing waste streams (e.g. project stage and

material type)

2) Planning options (e.g. recycling operators, costing tools, waste management records)

3) Execution (e.g. Roles and responsibilities)

4) Reviewing process

Case Studies– NZ Archives, new build, (Auckland)

– Meridian Building, new build, (Wellington)

– HNZ Mixed housing, demo and reuse (North Shore)

Each study contains:

project overview, planning, disposal, lessons learned, recommendations.

These will be added to with time..

Waste operators (National)– Now very comprehensive

– Downloadable as a pivot Table

Waste operators.

New Costings information

Two costing tools being developed:a) commercial b) residential

Each will examine costs (sort/clean/storage etc), and benefits (e.g. reduced landfill charges) of individual waste materials, to provide user with realistic figures

New Costing/Benefit tool

A costing tool has been developed covering both commercial and residential C&D

Each will examine costs (sort/clean/storage etc), and benefits (e.g. reduced landfill charges) of individual waste materials, to provide user with realistic figures

New Costing/Benefit toolUser get asked the following questions:

- Type of material

- Weight of material

- Whether the material is going to be cleaned

- Storage costs

- Transportation cost to reclamation/landfill facility

- Landfill and Levy costs

- Value of material

From this, cost/benefit of recycling material is determined
