Registering for Classes 1) Begin the registration process by going to the

main Amarillo College website at www.actx.edu and logging on to WebAdvisor.

WebAdvisor is extremely helpful. Here you can register, drop classes, find your class schedule, find out how much you owe, find out how much

your are receiving from financial aid, your GPA, and your evaluation, and much more!

(This will be the next screen you will see after you click WebAdvisor.)

2) Click on Log In (the first tab at the top of the page).

2) Logging on to WebAdvisor

Name:_______________________________________________ Write in your Amarillo College ID #:

a The little “a” makes this your WebAdvisor User ID. Write in your birthday expressed as 6 digits (this is your default password):

Month Date Year Design and write a password that: 1. Contains at between 6 – 9 digits 2. Has both alpha and numerical characters At least 6 digits long No more than 9 Write a short hint that will remind you of your password: To access WebAdvisor:

1. Open the Internet 2. Go to: www.actx.edu 3. Click on…”Click here to login to WebAdvisor” 4. Type in your User ID (don’t forget the lowercase “a”) 5. If you have never used WebAdvisor:

a. Type in your password (6 digit birthday)…Submit b. Follow the screen instructions to set up your new

password…Submit 6. Click on…Students You are now in your personal WebAdvisor page. Remember your password and remember to log out.

3) Click on Students.

4) Registering for Class! You will have a couple of options for registering:

• If you aren’t quite sure and you need to do some searching, you can go through “Search and Register

• OR, if you know exactly what classes you are wanting to register for, you can go through “Express Registration”

A. Search and Register –

a) Fill in the fields, regardless of the method chosen, to select the desired classes.

b) Left-click the Submit button.

Example: I would like to search for Freshman Compositions I for fall 2005 but I don’t know what times they are offered on Mondays.

Just a Reminder: Not all areas on this page have to be filled out. The important things are the semester, and the class. You may also want to include whether it is on a campus or if it is distance education (web classes, ITV, etc…).

Next, select “Submit” at the bottom of the screen and all the classes that are available will be on the next page.

The next page will look something like this. Notice on the left hand side of the classes there is a box you check if that is the class that will work for your schedule.

Once you have selected your class, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click on “Submit.”

Congratulations, you are registered for that class!

B) Express Registration –

a) For this method of registration, you will need to know all the information about your class(es).

If you are looking online or in the class schedule, you will find that each class will look similar to this:

Now that you have the trial schedule filled out, let’s register!

Fill out the areas for each class you wish to register for and click “Submit.” You will get a message saying that “You are registered for the following classes. If this is correct click Submit.” If one of the classes is full or closed, you will get a message prompting you to search for another class. Welcome to Amarillo College!
