Lucy Phillips Classroom Building Highlights:

• All new heating and air conditioning systems – ducts, air

handler, VAV boxes, pumps, etc.

• All new electrical/data wiring, panels and service

• Addition of fire sprinkler system throughout building

• Virtually complete gutting of the building with all new wall/room construction

• 12 new all-purpose classrooms

• 2 new UEN broadcast classrooms and 1 new conference room

• New and expanded testing center with 125 desks

• Enhanced computer testing with 30 laptop computers complete with lock-down browser

surround sound, and Elmo

• All new furniture with casters designed to accommodate arranging classrooms for various teaching methods and preferences

• 4 additional faculty offices

• Expanded Information Technology Office space with enhanced security options

• 2nd Floor entrance/exit on the building’s East side

• Modern datacenter with raised floor, state-of-the-art Liebert cooling system, data cabinets, and space for future expansion

• New energy efficient exterior window systems

• New exterior doors with electronic security locks

• Anticipated opening date for classes beginning January 4, 2011

• Consolidation of nursing offices in the Washburn building

• Creation of science lab including gas, air, water, electric and data at each student station

• Creation of lab storage area to include a cadaver for anatomy classes
