WORLD SENIOR CITIZEN DAY
When you see an elderly person looking for a place to
sit, get up and offer your chair so he or she can sit in it.
When you see a senior citizen trying to open a heavy
door, hold it open yourself; don't let that senior
struggle anymore.
When you see an elder anxiously trying to cross a busy
road, help him or her across; you've no idea of the gift
you've bestowed.
When you see an elderly person sitting quietly alone in
a park, stop and strike up a conversation; your kindness
will surely leave its mark.
When an elder speaks to you, try to focus and listen,
there's often wisdom in those words that you just might
be missing.
Let's show our elders respect and honor all that they've
lived through. Don't forget that if we're lucky, someday
we'll be elders too.
On 21 August 2020, Sant Nirankari Charitable
Foundation organized a virtual live event on zoom to
celebrate Senior Citizen Day on the occasion of ‘World
Senior Citizen Day’ through the medium of talks, songs
and theatre. The aim was to make children recognize
and appreciate the elderly ones, for their values and
contribution made to their families and the society. The
initiatives taken by the students of Sant Nirankari
Public, Faridabad were shared through videos in the
live event on Zoom and YouTube.
Showing respect is a wonderful way to honor elders
whether they're family members or simply people we
encounter in our daily life. With these thoughts,
students actively participated in all the activities and
pledged that they would become a better human being
showing kindness and gratitude towards everyone.

WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY
In 2008, the United Nations General Assembly designated
19 August as World Humanitarian Day to raise awareness
about humanitarian assistance worldwide and to pay
tribute to the people who risk their lives to provide it.
World Humanitarian Day was commemorated for the first
time on 19 August 2009.
On World Humanitarian Day, the world honours all
humanitarians – many working in their own communities
– who are going to extraordinary lengths in extraordinary
times to help women, men and children whose lives are
upended by crises and the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The dedication, perseverance and self-sacrifice of these
real-life heroes represent the best of humanity as they
respond to the COVID-19 crisis and the massive increase
in humanitarian needs it has triggered.
So we at SNPS, too familiarized our students about this
day and made them aware that how badly we need
humanity in these difficult times. Through a story telling
session in the assembly, we made our due efforts to make
our students aware of being human first and show
humanity in whichever way they can.

Virtual Teacher’s Day Celebration Teachers' Day, which is celebrated on 5th September every
year, is a special day when teachers are recognised and
honoured by their pupils and society for the vital role they
play. The day is celebrated with great fervour in schools
every year to mark the birthday of great Academician and
philosopher, Dr. Sarvapalli RadhaKrishnan. It has always
been marked as a day of remembrance throughout the
country with activities that leave teachers in no doubt of
their significance to society.
However, this year, the massive disruption to daily patterns
of living caused by the Covid-19 pandemic has thrown
matters off kilter. Classes have moved online since April.
Like all other festivals and occasions that we celebrated
online, Teacher’s Day too was celebrated in a similar
manner by Sant Nirankari Public School, Faridabad.
Students interacted their teachers virtually and conveyed
their wishes through various activities like poems,
speeches, cards, songs etc.
In the morning Special Assembly was conducted
virtually to pay homage to Dr. Sarvapalli RadhaKrishnan.
Students and teachers expressed their views and
documentary on the life of Great master was shown to
the students. Students expressed their feelings through
the various means of social media like WhatsApp,
Facebook, Instagram etc. Students posted their selfie
with a paper sharing their teacher’s name and with a
message to their teachers #OurTeachersOurHeroes and
#TeachersFromIndia to acknowledge the contribution
of their teachers as per guidelines of CBSE.
Teacher’s Day was a different experience this year as
everything was held online/ virtually. The School
Management blessed all the teachers through their
precious messages. Mr. V.K. Arora, Chairperson of the
school sent a remarkable poem in praise of teachers.
“Poetry is the core of literature.” Oh! What a
beautiful way to express something through
innocent words and actions in a melody with
all smiles and giggles. To spread the fragrance
of poetry among the tiny scholars of S.N. Pre
School, a Hindi Poem Recitation Competition
was held on 7th July ’20. The recital excelled
in rhythm, mood, diction and expressions.
The children chose a variety of topics for their
recitation with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm.
The best three victors were applauded,
praised for their capability and awarded with
E-Certificate.
