Education members of the Remsenburg-Speonk Union Free School District,Town of Southampton, County of Suf-folk, New York, will be held on Tuesday,May 17, 2016, between the hours of 9:00A.M. and 9:00 P.M., prevailing time, in theRemsenburg-Speonk Elementary School,at which time the polls will be opened tovote by ballot or machine upon the follow-ing items:
1. To adopt the annual budget of theSchool District for the fiscal year 2016-2017 and to authorize the requisite portionthereof to be raised by taxation on the tax-able property of the District.
2. To adopt a resolution that the Boardof Education be authorized to enter into acontract with Westhampton Beach UFSDand Eastport/South Manor CSD for theeducation of students in Grades 7 through12 for school year 2016-2017.
3. To adopt a resolution that the Boardof Education be authorized to contractwith the Suffolk Cooperative LibrarySystem for a period of one year only com-mencing July 1, 2016, for direct accesslibrary service for a sum not to exceed$265,354, in addition to the sums set forthin the budget, and to levy the necessary taxtherefor.
4. To elect two (2) members of theBoard for a three (3) year term commenc-ing July 1, 2016, and expiring on June 30,2019.
AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HERE-BY GIVEN that a copy of the statementof the amount of money which will be re-quired to fund the School District’s budgetfor 2016-2017 may be obtained by any res-ident in the District during business hoursbeginning on Monday, May 2, 2016, ex-cept Saturday, Sunday and holidays, at theRemsenburg-Speonk Elementary School.Pursuant to Chapter 258 of the Laws of2008, Section 495 was added to the RealProperty Tax Law and requires the SchoolDistrict to attach to its proposed budget anexemption report. Said exemption report,which will also become part of the finalbudget, will show how much of the totalassessed value of the final assessment rollused in the budgetary process is exemptfrom taxation, list every type of exemp-tion granted by statutory authority, and
show the cumulative impact of each typeof exemption, the cumulative amount ofexpected to be received as payments inlieu of taxes (PILOT) and the cumulativeimpact of all exemptions granted. In addi-tion, said exemption report shall be postedon any bulletin board maintained by theDistrict for public notices and on any web-site maintained by the District.
AND FURTHER NOTICE ISHEREBY GIVEN that petitions nomi-nating candidates for the office of memberof the Board of Education shall be filedwith the Clerk of said School District ather office in the Remsenburg-Speonk El-ementary Schoo l, Remsenburg, New York,not later than Monday, April 18, 2016, 5:00P.M. Each petition shall be directed to theClerk of the school district, shall be signedby at least twenty-five (25) qualified votersof the district, shall state the residence ofeach signer, and shall state the name andresidence of the candidate.
