He created the Bunsen burner! It’s cool because it

helps us study the elements by providing a clean flame!

ROBERT

BunsenA PRETTY COOL GUY

Robert Wilhelm Eberhard Bunsen was born on March 30, 1811, in Göttingen, Germany. He was the youngest of four sons. In 1830, he was awarded his Ph.D in chemistry at the age of 19 years old. Bunsen discovered two of our many elements: Rubidium and Cesium. In 1883, Robert won the equivalent of the Nobel Prize, in the form of the British Society’s Copley Medal. He invented FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY by burning magnesium and saved us all from arsenic poisoning by creating an antidote. Robert Bunsen did not have a significant other because he had extremely poor hygiene but he had lots of friends because of his personality. Robert also contributed fundamental research to geological chemistry. Sadly, our dear friend Robert died on the 16th of August, 1899.
