Mission StatementS.W.I.M. will work to provide more potable drinking water to aid in the prevention of water-born diseases, malnutrition, and unhealthful hygiene; and as a result, improve the quality of life for the innocent people of Somalia.

Somalia’s population use an up-to-date water supply

Only 29% of the country’s water is safe to drink

25% of the population has access to sanitation

As of January 2010, 3.2 million Somalis are in need of emergency care

Current Means of Getting Water (Usually Not Potable)

Carrying plastic tubs to rivers/streams, sometimes 40 Km away

Trucking in drums of water

Hand-dug wells

Berkads
