Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
July 15, 2012
Welcome to St. Anthony
In addition, it comes within the meaning of
religious freedom that religious communities
should not be prohibited from freely
undertaking to show the special
value of their doctrine in what
concerns the organization of society
and the inspiration of the whole
of human activity. Finally, the
social nature of man and the very nature of
religion afford the foundation of the right of
men freely to hold meetings and to establish
educational, cultural, charitable and social
organizations, under the impulse of their own
religious sense. ~ Dignitatis Humanae: On the Right of the Person
and of Communities to Social and Civil Freedom in
Matters Religious, Promulgated by Pope Paul VI,
December 7, 1965

Want to be a member of St. Anthony’s—
want to receive envelopes??
It’s easy. Just fill out a registration form (located on the
wall in back of church) and place it in the offering basket
or give it to an usher. Remember, you must register to
receive envelopes. Members who were registered under
their parents must register as their own “head of
household” when they turn 18 years of age, even if they
still live at home. Questions? Call Parish Office
(404 758-8861).
A Parent’s Prayer for Sunday Morning
God, help us get to church today with
minimal fuss and fighting, with everyone
dressed and ready to pray, with all our bags
packed, prepared for anything. And if the kids gets
fussy and distracted, please let there be a song to
soothe them, a colorful window to enchant them,
and kind pew mates to accept our flaws.

FRIENDLY REMINDER:
Wells Fargo Bank has
generously allowed us to use
their parking area free of
charge for many years. They
have only asked that our
parishioners not park in or
around the entire drive thru
area of the bank. Failure to
abide by this request will
result in your car being towed
at your expense.
COUPLES CELEBRATING
50th
AND 60th
ANNIVERSARY IN 2012
Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory would
like to honor couples married in 1962 and 1952 with an
invitation to a Golden/Diamond Wedding Anniversary
Mass on Saturday October 13, 2012 at noon at Saint
Brigid Catholic Church. A catered reception will follow
for the anniversary couples and their families. Limited
tickets are required for this special occasion, so please
contact Nicole Hartman at 404-920-7626 or by e-mail at
nhartman@archatl.com by August 1, 2012 to place your
name among the couples to receive an invitation to the
Mass and reception. Additional details will be provided
after you contact the Office of Formation and
Discipleship.
Frequently Asked Questions about the Church
Renovation
What work will be happening at the parish starting in
mid-April?
The brickwork (exterior) will be re-grouted (tuck pointed;
exterior will be cleaned; 10 of 11 roofs will be replaced; all
framing around windows restored; windows cleaned and new
window covers installed; flashing replaced.
What type of equipment will I see when I attend Mass?
Scaffolding, ladders, an apple picker or crane that will be there
from mid April until late August (might go a bit longer).
What are the three biggest priorities for the work
project?
Repairing the woodwork that secures the windows, tuck pointing brickwork to seal out current leaks, and replacing
10 of 11 roofs.
How does this work benefit the parish?
The work provides us with a solid exterior, new roofing and protects the church’s beautiful windows; the massive
repairs will insure that we will have no further exterior leaks so we can protect St. Anthony’s church from further
decay and renovate the interior. The work will also provide us with new roofing which will last many years.
How is the parish paying for this?
In 2011, the active parishioners voted to sell the long-closed parish school to the Archdiocese of Atlanta. The
proceeds of the sale are funding these improvements.
