With summer upon us, it is a good time to
consider good stewardship of our parish,
especially when we are away on vacations.
It is during this time that many repairs are
done around our facilities, staff is preparing for programs that
will begin in the fall, teens are on service projects and of course,
our annual Vacation Bible School is in session. Obviously, your
continued support is needed during these months of summer!
Many of you are aware that you can give online through your
checking, debit or credit card accounts. It’s a simple, hassle-free
way of giving. It also benefits St. Rose, knowing that regular
income will be available each weekend helps us to pay our bills
on time.
To sign up for online giving, simply go to our website:
www.saintroseoflima.com, click on “Online Giving,” the
WeShare logo and fill in the required information. Please let us
know if you have any difficulty signing up. And thank you for
your continued support.
We welcome into the Christian Community

SIXTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
From the Pastor:
St. Rose of Lima Youth Ministry
19th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament
St. Rose of Lima Parish has always been privileged to serve
children and young adults from all of the 1500 households in
the parish community. Having our own professional, well
trained, pastoral staff is a very expensive venture but well worth
both the effort and the cost. In order to maintain the level of
care, service and Catholic formation, we began a Youth Ministry
Golf Tournament that provides funding for some current
expenses as well as saving for future needs!
I am asking all parents to take an interest in this year’s Golf
Tournament, scheduled for Tuesday, October 8th. I hope
golfers will sign-up early in order to “firm up” the tournament
and welcome individuals, doubles and 25 four-some's to make
this event a great community celebration of love and sacrifice
for our children as well as children everywhere. Look for
additional information in the gathering space.
Online Registration now Open! www.saintroseoflima.com Simply click on the golf button and register to play, to attend
the dinner, to sponsor the event or to make a donation to our
silent auction. Let’s make this year’s tournament a big success
for the benefit of our youth!
FAMILY FAITH CELEBRATION
Saturday, October 26, 2019
1:00 PM-5:00 PM ~ Assumption College Join us for a celebration which will encompass the talents of children from
local parish communities and offer a unique opportunity to joyously
celebrate our Catholic Faith through song, prayer and movement. This
event is an opportunity for communal prayer, reflection, catechesis and
celebration within the context of our Catholic identity and discipleship in
today’s world.
~We are looking for students ages 7 to 12 interested in learning in ad-
vance and then performing new songs at the celebration which will
deepen understanding and building knowledge in Religious Education in
an enjoyable, relevant and prayerful manner.~
If your child would like to participate in the family celebration choir or
if your family would like to attend this event, please contact
Susan McGoldrick: smcgoldrickreled@verizon.net
or 508-393-6444.

Your Participation is Needed The Religious Education Program at St. Rose of Lima is a volunteer program. It is
dependent on one’s willingness to share their time, talent and faith with our children.
This upcoming school year, we need your help with the following programs:
Children’s Liturgy of the Word (K-1) Sept – May
Sunday mornings during the 10 AM Mass
Elementary, Middle School & High School Grade Level Coordinators, Teachers, Teacher’s Aides, Substitute Teachers and Hall
Monitors
Confirmation Program 2019-2020 Please watch for upcoming important information regarding the

Summertime Family Activity:
Outdoor Theatre
Encourage your child to pick one of two favorite Bible stories to act out, such as the
story of Jesus healing the blind man or the story of Jesus walking on water. Design
a script so that all participants can play a role and have a few important lines to
say. Using a bed sheet or tablecloth, create a stage area with curtains among the
trees. Create costumes, props and invitations. Invite your neighbors and family
members over for an afternoon or evening of biblical theatre.
