THE WHY?• All elementary schools in Wilkes County are TITLE

ONE schools. TRANSLATION: Over 50% of their total student population qualifies for FREE/REDUCED meals.

• Over 5,500 children are at-risk of going home to little or no food in their homes.

THE FACTS

• Studies have shown that even short periods of malnutrition can AFFECT children’s behavior, cognitive development, and FUTURE productivity.
