Even Numbers

Numbers that can be divided by two

without a remainder.

Odd Numbers

Numbers that can be divided by two

but will have a remainder of one.

Algorithm

A method of calculation.

Addend

A number that is added in an

addition problem.

Sum

The result of addition.

Ordinal Numbers

Numbers that indicate position

or order.1st3rd 2nd

Difference

The result of subtraction.

Factor

A number being

multiplied.

Product

The result of multiplication.

Horizontal

Level; parallel with the horizon.

Vertical

Straight up and down

Oblique

Slanted

Denominator

The bottom number of a

fraction.

Numerator

The top number of a

fraction.

Prime

A number divisible by only one and

itself.

Composite

A number having more

than 2 factors.

Century

100 years

Decade

10 years

Multiples

A number found by multiplying a given number by a whole number greater than

zero.Multiples of 5 are 5, 10,

15, etc.
