Celebrity Flatshare Game (good for staff training)
• Reality Game show• Forum - users get a grade when posting to
forum saying why they want to be in the flatshare
• Database - used for images and details of celebrities, custom scales used for grades users vote for the four celbs they want in the flat
• Glossary – Users added a favourite recipe

and safety - what do you do first?
Enable students to rate entries:- Site admin> Settings>Permissions>Database rate entries, click on + then select role, do the same for forums.

• Site admin to turn on outcomes globally, teacher can then turn on in course

• The GSB set allows automatic medal awards for Moodle courses based upon a defined benchmark criteria of activities and resources. The set consists of a report which allows the criteria to be benchmarked and a block to publicize the award to the teacher(s)

Using LTI in Moodle to easily educate students in your local schools and promote your college
• Dublin University College (DUC) are working with local schools using Learner Tool Interoperability (ITL). ITL is free and allows seamless integration of activities via the VLE (Moodle)
• Students in local schools are given free online taster courses, eg introduction to forensic science – school teacher does not have to do anything.
• DUC pay for hosting for 4 schools for 3 years cost about £1,000 pa, externally hosted. Single sign on.
• Students who do the free courses are more likely to attend the college when they leave school!

• Performance - Moodle Universal Cache (MUC) to improve performance for large sites
• New vector icons (SVG) - completely new default icons for activities, blocks and actions
• Course formats - re-written to make formats more flexible and pluggable

blind marking• Calendar – Import iCal streams into the Moodle calendar
