SEARCH for Christian Maturity, or as we call it, “SEARCH,” is a weekend

retreat for rising juniors and seniors in the Diocese of Nashville.

SEARCH uses peer-to-peer, or “youth talking to youth” ministry to foster an

environment of acceptance & encouragement. Our teen led

teams provide an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to help us all grow closer

to Christ.

SEARCHERS will have the incredible opportunity to celebrate Mass

together & be renewed through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

While SEARCH has helped thousands of teens grow closer to Christ, please

understand it is not designed to correct morals or unstable

school/family life.

Last year, we had 341 students from across Middle Tennessee make SEARCH—from 45 different high

schools and 37 different parishes! Chances are, someone from your

school or parish already made SEARCH!

bad, & divine—helps form a foundation for the SEARCH

community that has been growing for the last 43 years in our diocese.

Our SEARCH Team is trained to help foster a healthy atmosphere of

Christian trust. “Be strong & take heart, all who trust

in the Lord.” Psalm 31:25

- C O M M U N I T Y - Placing ourselves a little ways

outside our personal comfort zones will allow the doors of community to

fly wide open! Discover how incredible our faith community is here in Middle Tennessee, just a

small chunk of the Universal Church! “Beloved, if God so loved us, we

also must love one another.” 1 John 4:11

- P R A Y E R -

In the world of texts, tweets, and all things tech, it is more and more

difficult to silence ourselves and just listen to God, our Father. At

SEARCH, we provide many different opportunities for individual and

group prayer. “Be still and know that I am God”

Psalm 46:11  

WHEN? There are 8 SEARCH weekends throughout the school year. All participants must select a date

when applying. All applications are processed on a first come, first

served basis. [See back for list of dates]

WHERE?

SEARCH Weekends are held at Camp Marymount in Fairview, TN

COST?

$80 covers the food, lodging, & materials for the weekend.

WHAT TO BRING?

All you need to bring is a sleeping bag/bed linens, pillow, towel,

toiletries, and casual clothing that your Granny would approve of.

Please do not bring jewelry, watches, cell phones, or iPods/iPads/Computers.

- Our Story - Fr. Ed Arnold brought SEARCH to our diocese from San Mateo, California.

SEARCH is a youth version of the Cursillo Movement, another strong retreat program here in Nashville. Fr. Arnold and the first team held

SEARCH #1 in April 1971.

In the 43 years since then, we’ve had almost 12,000 youth of our

diocese participate in the program. May God continue to bless the

youth of Middle Tennessee with this incredible retreat opportunity of

conversion & growth in the light of Christ.
