What’s the Gossip?
Hi everyone, and welcome to Carinbundi’s September newsletter – this month’s issue is full of photos and updates on all the activities being enjoyed by our customers, and staff. Many of our customers attended the Ability Ball on 23 September and had the chance to meet Ziggy and Brodie from ‘ Home & Away’ . Everyone looked amazing and a very enjoyable night was had by all with dinner, and dancing through the night. Thanks go to the carers who accompanied the many customers who attended. All families of Carinbundi are well into transitioning to the NDIS now. My thanks goes to Brandi Brierley, and others, for doing everything they can to help families be ready for the changes. All Carinbundi staff are focussing on ensuring when your transition takes place, that we are ready to not only help you through the transition, but ensuring continuity of service. If you have questions about the NDIS transition, please contact us and we can help. A personal letter from me as CEO, to you re the NDIS….
Congratulations If you have had your plan completed by either the IWC or the NDIA, your letter will clearly state the “Start Date” of your plan, but it does NOT clearly state that “your current State-Based Funding has therefore ceased”. As per the “NEXT STEPS” stated in your approved NDIS letter (please refer to the “Starting your plan” NDIS document), it is critical that you immediately advise your current Service Providers that your NDIS plan has been activated. As per the agreement between the Dept of Communities and the NDIA, any support hours that Carinbundi have provided from the start date of the NDIS Plan Approval, are to be back-dated, and charged to your NDIS package. This process is determined by the NDIS, and is the same for all Service Providers. The ‘Intake Team’ at Carinbundi are available to assist you with your transition to NDIS funding. Carinbundi can help you through this transition process by: 1) checking that your new funding reflects your needs and is sufficient in relation to your pre-plan; 2) ensuring your new funding at least matches (and in most cases exceeds) your previous supports; 3) assisting you with the transition from State Funding to NDIS funding.
The NDIS is the biggest opportunity for Carinbundi customers to receive the funding, choice and control that the NDIS aims to deliver. Let us help you to plan for the future you desire. Contact the Intake Team: Brandi Brierley, bbrierley@carinbundi.com.au , or Leann Pirie intake@carinbundi.com.au. Phone: (07) 4158 9600. Kind regards Clive Pearce, CEO Don’t forget to pop into Stocklands and put your vote in for Carinbundi’s creation .. Wall-E – well done to the customers who did a great job making Wall-E, and to the carers who helped them. CLIVE
