2-10. THREADING MOTOR REPLACEMENT

Outline

Replacement

1. Remove the Plate MR.

2. Disconnect the Connectors (CN920/CCM-15 Board, CN233/HN-184 Board)

3. Remove the Gear Box Assembly

4. Remove the Threading Motor

5. Remove the CCM-15 Board

6. Install the CCM-15 Board

7. Smear Grease

8 Install the Threading Motor

9. Install the Gear Box Assembly

10. Connect the Connectors (CN920/CCM-15 Board, CN233/HN-184 Board)

11. Install the Plate MR

Adjustment after Replacement

12. Confirm the Threading Motor Operation(Refer to Section 5-2 in Maintenance Manual Part 1.)(C012: THREADING MOTOR)

Tension Measurement Jig and Tension Meter

Remove the Brush/Slip Ring Cover

Check

1. Turn on the power and keep it more than halfan hour.

2. Calibrate the Tension meter, referring to itsOperation Manual.

3. Insert the probes of the Tension meter to theTension measurement jig.

4. Pull out the tape from the cassette incorporat-ed in the tension measurement jig. Thread thetape through the probes of the tension meteras shown in the illustration.

5. Turn off the power.

6. Remove the following parts.. Cassette compartment (Refer to the Mainte-

nance Manual Part 1 Section 1-2-2.). Video head cleaner assembly (Refer to

Section 2-17.). Upper drum cover (Refer to Section 2-12.). Brush/slip ring cover (See the illustration in

the right.)Caution. Don’t touch the brush/slip ring during the

state of power on as it is loaded by thehigh voltage.

. Turn the brush/slip ring counterclockwisein order to prevent it from interfering withthe tension measurement jig.

7. Turn on the power.8. Press the EJECT button.9. Press the S700 switch on the SS-52 board to

shift the reel tables to the position of S cas-sette (Refer to the Maintenance Manual Part 1Section 1-10-1.)

10. Put the tension measurement jig attached withthe tension meter on the reel tables.

11. Press the STOP button. Now the tape isthreaded.

12. Press the PLAY button and then check thevalue of the tension meter.Specification:Value of the tension meter = 32 ±3 gCheck that the tape runs in the stable state byobserving the SAT ENV signal. (Refer to theMaintenance Manual Part 1 Section 8-4-3.)If the value is not fulfilled, perform adjustmentaccording to the step 17.

13. Press the EJECT button.14. Turn off the power.15. Remove the Tension measurement jig.16. Attach the following parts.

. Brush/slip ring cover

. Upper drum cover

. Video head cleaner assembly

. Cassette compartment

17. Loosen the fixing screw shown in the illustra-tion as much as 1/2 turn.

18. Put a flat blade screwdriver in the notch shownin the illustration and turn it, reading the valueon the tension meter.Specification:Value of the tension meter = 32 ±3 g

19. When the value of the tension meter satisfieswith the specification, tighten the fixing screwand reassure that the value of the tensionmeter still satisfies with the specification.If the value should be out of the specification,then repeat adjustment resuming the step 17.

20. Press the EJECT button.21. Turn off the power.22. Remove the tension measurement jig.23. Paste the locking compound for the fixing

screw.24. Attach the following parts.

. Brush/slip ring cover

. Upper drum cover

. Video head cleaner assembly

. Cassette compartment

Tension Offset Adjustment & Data Saving

25. Turn on the power.26. Perform the tension offset adjustment.

(Refer to Maintenance Manual Part 1 Section5-7-1.)

27. Save the adjustment data.(Refer to Maintenance Manual Part 1 Section5-7-1.)

Tape-running Check

In case that the adjustments have been performedin line with the procedures of the item 17 afterward,it needs for you to check the tape-running, too.(Refer to the Maintenance Manual Part 1 Section8-4-2.)

Before performing this adjustment, section 5-6-2. ADV Level Adjustment and section 5-6-3. CNF Level Adjustment should be completed.

Preparations for adjustment

Step 1• Set to STOP mode.• Connect the + side of the digital

voltmeter to TP808, and the _side to TP403.

• Insert the alignment tape ZR5-1P,and set to PLAY mode.

Step 2• Connect the + side of the digital

voltmeter to TP809, and the _side to TP503.

• Insert the alignment tape ZR5-1P,and set to PLAY mode.

Step 3 (for DVW-A500P/500P only)• Connect the + side of the digital

voltmeter to TP908, and the _side to TP603.

• Insert the alignment tape ZR5-1P,and set to PLAY mode.

Step 4 (for DVW-A500P/500P only)• Connect the + side of the digital

voltmeter to TP909, and the _side to TP707.

• Insert the alignment tape ZR5-1P,and set to PLAY mode.
