“The grass withers and the flower fades,

But the Word of Our God stands forever”.

Bishop Lesslie Newbigin

• ‘God sends His Word to us in the character of both information and invitation. His Word comes to woo us as well as to instruct us. It not merely puts us in the picture of what God has done, but also calls us into something personal with the loving Lord Jesus’

How can I delight in God’s Word daily

• S= Scripture • O= Observation • A=Application • P=Prayer

• Read Psalm 139

Scripture

Take time reading and allow God to speak to you. When you are done, look for a verse that particularly spoke to you that day, and write it in your journal.

Observation

What do you observe in this passage? What is the story about, who is speaking, who are the words for? what happens?

Paraphrase and write this scripture down in your own words, in your journal.

Application

Personalize what you have read, by asking God to show you how this applies to your life right now. Perhaps it is instruction, encouragement, revelation of a new promise, or corrections for a particular area of your life. Write how this scripture can apply to you today.

Prayer

This can be as simple as asking God to help you use this

scripture, or it may be a greater insight on what He may be

revealing to you. Remember, prayer is a two way

conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say!
