POLICE IMPACT ON COMMUNITIES

Thesis

- The police work to create positive relationships with the youth community to prevent crime. They run organizations such as P.A.L to help keep adolescents off the street. They work with detention and probation faculties to keep adolescent away from crime.

Statistics

From 1991 the percentage of juveniles committing forcible rape was 44% more than the 1980’s

Arrests made Juvenile’s committing robbery declined 46% after 1980’s and continued from 1995 to 2008.

- In 2005 49% of juveniles were arrested for arson.

- 37% of Juveniles in 2005 were arrested for vandalism
