Silvia Serafini

Silvia Serafini was born in 1966 and has always lived in Florence. His life is entirely dedicated to art, from youth studies to the Institute for Art and Restoration of Palazzo Spinelli and later the free school of the nude at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence to the frequentations of "Bottega", where he honed the secrets of the ancient masters. For over 28 years he has worked as a contemporary painter and as a painter of antique paintings. As for his exhibition activity, from 1988 to today, he has set up numerous solo and group exhibitions in galleries and public places in Italy and abroad. The Florentine critic Tommaso Paloscia wrote about her "... remnants of colored notes, quickly portrayed on an ideal notebook for notes ... there is the dynamic energy of the configuration of different subjects, especially in" Briciole "of Florentine architecture, that his technique, on paper or canvas, feeds in compelling progression, as if the time to operate is done, for the painter from day to day more greedy stimulating the speed of execution ... "

Silvia Serafini boasts a vast array of Collectors all over the world. He loves working hard on paper and that's why he uses watercolor combined with colored chalk and ink. In recent years his favorite subject is the fragments of secular architectural structures, actualizing them with the freshness and vitality of his colors, and windows, as if they were an inner look on himself and the world.

“Painter of ancient paintings"

In her artistic career, Silvia Serafini, she studied ancient techniques and learned the tricks of the trade, attending the best artistic workshops in Florence, preparing the paintings with skill, milling the colors and learning to pat the paintings, to add an aura of mystery to each his copy, indeed ... to every "old style painting"; because she prefers to call herself a painter of ancient-style paintings that a true copyist: each of her paintings becomes a unique, original piece.

Made to order, he painted paintings in every style from still lifes, to landscapes, portraits, 800/900 paintings, Trompe-l'oeil, decorations.

"... A type of painting (copies in fact) that allows her to refine the skills acquired so far and at the same time to test herself with some great classics of art history: from still life to painting of views, from the sacred theme to the mythological one. An opportunity to remember how much skill and study are placed at the origin of each of his pictorial works, both when this is faithful to a genre or subject, and when it frees more freely from the exaltation of chromatic effects to synthesis figural obtained through the sign "...
