KIALLA CENTRAL PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER Page 3
Over the holidays the kitchen in the specialist /OSHC room was installed. A big thank you to Deanne Moulsdale who let Valley Kitchens in
to install it during the first week of the holidays. It looks fantastic and will be a very useful space. Thanks also to Dean Moulsdale for helping with the finishing touches to the kitchen. Dane Brisbane is completing the plumbing this week. He will connect hot & cold water to the sink and trough areas and run our grey water out of this area. Once this work is completed we will be able to start our cubby house area. On Wednesday 23rd until Friday 25th October our Grade 3/4 students, Miss Posteraro, Mrs Opie and I will be at the Alexandra Adventure Resort. As usual we are going on camp with Kialla West P.S. A big thank you to Mr Campbell Marx for organising this camp. We have 83 students on board this year and 12 staff/parents as well as the Camp staff.
Last Friday, Emila (Grade 5) participated in the Regional Athletic Championships in Albury. She qualified for the 11 year old
girls Shot Putt where she finished 5th. This is a fan-tastic effort for this high level of competition. Thank you to Mat and Tish for organising transport for her. Congratulations Emila, we are very proud of you.
DAIRY AUSTRALIA’S FARM SAFETY ADVENTURE
Mrs Moulsdale found a competition hosted by Dairy Australia inviting primary schools to complete an A ~ Z Farm Safety Guide with a chance to win $1000 in prize money! Our Grade 3 to 6 students developed their ideas and with assistance from Mrs Moulsdale, Mr Zito and Mrs Opie completed and submitted their entry at the end of Term 3, 24 schools entered this competition from around Australia. It is with great pleasure that I announce that we won this national competition.
We received: ~ $1,000 prize money; ~ a promotional gift for students; ~ A Ken Duncan book of dairy; and ~ a certificate. Our winning entry is on display in the Gallery. I have contacted the Shepparton News and the Country Times will do a story on our success.
A big thank you to Mrs Moulsdale, Mr Zito and Mrs Opie. Congratulations to our very talented students!
We will discuss with the students what they would like to do with their prize money.
On Monday 28th October we are hosting out first Orientation Session for our 2020 Foundation Students. We are expecting 13 Foundations to start school at K.C.P.S. next year. Each student will be given a buddy who will work closely with them during our orientation program and of course throughout the 2020 school year. Parents’ Club are providing morning tea, this will provide the opportunity for our new and old families to meet each and ask any questions they may have. Thank you to our Parents’ Club!
Exciting news! Teeth on Wheels will be
returning to our school for the children’s 6
monthly dental visits.
To make filling out the consent form easier you can
now complete your Child’s consent form online by
following the link below. It only takes 5 minutes to
complete and by reducing the amount of paper
being used, we will be helping the team out by being
more environmentally friendly.

The date of the children’s dental visit will be
starting on Monday the 28th of October 2019,

the start of the year to have this completed ASAP!
If you have any questions regarding the consent
form or your child’s dental appointment please
don’t hesitate to contact the Teeth on Wheels team

Thank you to Dean Moulsdale for doing some of our maintenance jobs around school. Also to Andrew Ryan for checking our sprinklers and getting them running on the oval and front grass area. Our garden bed sprinkler system need to be re-done which we will do as part of the eating area re-vamp. Our annual school data of our NAPLAN results, Attitudes to School Survey, Parent Opinion Survey and School Survey (Staff) is now available to school. I will share our results over the next few weeks in our newsletters. Debbie Humphries ~ Proud Principal of KCPS
