Cutting:
*WOF = Width of fabric
Fabric AWait to cut fabric A until your pieced blocks are assembled and sewn together. Once you have your blocks pieced and sewn together - measure the length and you will cut your Fabric A to appropriate length. It will be 73” in length if seam allowance is accurate. After length is cut - then cut 12.5” x 73”and remainder piece will be approximately 29.5” x 73”
Fabric BCut (2) 4” x WOF strips. Then sub cut into (7) 4” x 7.5” rectangles Cut (4) 3” x WOF strips. (will be trimmed later)
Fabric C Cut (6) 7.5” x 8.5” rectangles. See hint below for fussy cutting.
Cut 1/4” away from chosen block. Using your
ruler is helpful.
These are my 6 blocks. I chose to cut blocks in the
center of print (not by selvedge).
Pieces cut for the blocks
Sew B piece (4” x 7.5”) to top of each C piece. Then sew remaining B piece to the bottom of one C piece.
You will have (6) blocks shown on left and (1) block shown on right
Sewing TipSince I didn’t want the black edges of the grid to show I flipped my block over when sewing. I made sure my needle was one thread width away from the black line.

Now sew 3 blocks to-gether to create a small strip. Repeat step.
Sew (1) B piece (3”x WOF) to each side of small strip from last step
Trim WOF lengths so that the edge is straight. Strips will measure 12.5”x 34.75” and 12.5” x 38.25”. If your strips are different lengths than mine - trim to make your edges straight. Example above how to trim.
Sew both strips together to create your pieced strip. It will measure 12.5” x 73”
To finish your quilt top sew each A piece to sides of off-center strip.
Quilt and bind using favorite method. I chose to quilt vertical straight-lines about 3/8” apart.
