2. About the Event
Introduction
StartUp India Yatra is a unique initiative by StartUp India Hub of Government of India, in collaboration with Invest India and Openfuel. This Yatra aims at helping students/ working professionals of non metro towns and cities of Gujarat. This Yatra has provided an ultimate platform for students to pitch their ideas to government agencies, mentors coming from bigger towns and cities of Gujarat. Our college had been a participant and got a benefit of receiving digital and physical promotion on startup india hub and the

startup india yatra website. This event created the inspirational thought stream in young developing engineers of our college and other attendees of this event. Also event is starched to state level, new ideas and competitions can be understood along with market requirement and society problems throughout the region. In addition to this event provided a great help to the young entrepreneurs to start with their idea and make it commercially viable.
Information Sharing
The event started after getting divine blessings from god and a prayer. Following to that our guest were honored by respected faculties from various departments. As soon as the reception ceremony completed, the knowledge sharing about the startup india was started.
During the knowledge sharing session initially students were asked to show their interest about being the entrepreneur by CEO of Openfuel Mr. Bhumish. Also he discussed about the status of various Startup activities carried out worldwide. Students got real idea of the startups and how to start with from scratch. In addition to this he explained the steps and process for creating a startup and how to find the problem and its solution from society.
After that Mr. Nikunj Thakkar, CEO of Headstart addressed the students for creating a startup. As he had succeeded in creating his startup and become an entrepreneur, he shared his experiences in process of making a successful startup. Also he explained the importance of the finding the problems around us and how it can be solved with variety of ways. Meanwhile some enthusiastic students made their questions regarding the problem solving methodology and convert it to a solution.
Following to him students were guided regarding the importance of idea by Mr. JayKishan Prithiani an Entrepreneur of Cyberlobe Technologies Pvt. Ltd. He focused on how to get an innovative ideas for solving the problems. In addition to this he added “Ideas can be only generated though deep brainstorming”. He also made clarity of the idea and innovation terminology. Also he explained the process of validation of ideas for its feasibility under various criteria.
In the last stage of knowledge sharing session Mr. Salil Seth (Assistant Manager, Invest India) and Ms. Jasleen Lamba (Consultant, Invest India, which is a joint venture between DIPP and Ministry of commerce) explained the other prospects of Startup India. They showed some important statistics of startups registered in India in past years. They also showed the path of getting help from the government regarding startup. They also provided guidance regarding importance of government help in making the startup successful. To support various government initiatives like “Make in India”, “Skill India” they showed contribution of the successful startup by fresh entrepreneurs statistically.

Idea Pitching
After knowledge sharing session by our guest registered participants from our college
and other colleges were asked to present their innovative ideas. Ideas were presented
with PPTs, Videos, Design Boards and even verbally. Each idea was evaluated by
startup India Yatra representatives under various criteria like creativity, feasibility,
problem solving capability etc. Each student was given ample time to present idea. In
some cases the questions asked by the judged were answered exceptionally by the
participants which showed their deep understanding of their concept and its
applications. Around 35 different ideas were presented and discussed.
Valedictory ceremony
Final session of the event was to disclose the name of the best ideas selected. Ideas
were evaluated and finally six teams were selected from our centre of event. Students
were appreciated by the principal and other honorable guest for their achievement. In
addition to this they were invited to the Ignite Incubation Centre at Silver Oak for
acceleration program.
Idea Acceleration Program
After event completed at NSIT selected ideas were called for Idea Acceleration
Program. Idea acceleration program was held at IGNITE Incubation Center, Silver Oak
College of Engineering and Technology. The event contains the total guidelines
regarding Student idea improvement and make it feasible and implementation possible.
At the center students got guidelines for various aspects of idea. Experts from NID, IIM
and other well-known institutes take sessions and guide students with their area
expertise. Participants got great help to assess their idea and models with different
aspects. Participants learn Communication Skills, Product Design, Idea validation, Idea
pitching, building Business model of an idea.
Startup India Yatra Final Event
In the final phase of Startup India Yatra (Gujarat Edition), 77 teams from Gujarat
participated in final event. Some of the teams were working professionals, freelancers
and business persons. Before final event a screening round was conducted at the
Ideapad, CIIE, IIM-Ahmedabad. During the screening they were given ample guidelines
for their idea representation.
In final event at AMA, Ahmedabad each of team represented their ideas and try to
express maximum of their concept to the panel of judges. In the short duration of five
minutes, they have explained their complete idea and answers to the queries related to
it. In the whole day event, after such strong and accurate marking by panels of judges,

only top 10 teams were given offer letters from various incubation centers. Among top
10 teams four teams of our NSIT college had been selected by MICA and GLS
Incubation Centers. This state level event made an opportunity for young entrepreneurs
to start with their innovative ideas and evolve as a successful Startup. Students pleased
with the constant support of Institute in the event from start to end. One of the team
“Knight Fury” got position in top 3 teams. Winners were honored by Startup India Yatra
and Startup India hub team.
Incubation Centers offered joining letters to share knowledge and ideas with
them. Also they ensured to provide necessary help to make idea a successful startup.

3. Outcomes of event
- Active participation of students in the event inspired students to create innovative ideas.
- Startup India Hub Knowledge sharing by hon. Guest regarding new start up and government support for it
- Participants and attendees got fruitful interactions with Startup India Yatra representatives to clear their doubts about startup.
- Startup ideas were guided and evaluated under various criteria - Participants presented their innovative ideas to showcase their talent and
technical skills in respective problem solving solutions. - Best ideas were selected and called for acceleration program to polish the ideas
before presenting them to final event. - During the IAP at IGNAITE students learned various business and commercial
aspects of idea and how to make solution useful and acceptable. - In the final event at AMA & IIM, Ahmedabad students get full exposure in front of
various incubation centre executives and represent their innovative ideas. This active participation of students gives boost to interpersonal and entrepreneur skills with their technical knowledge.
4. Conclusion
At the end of event we found that the Startup India Yatra was highly appreciated by the faculties, participants and attendees. It was rich with information and benefits of Startup India (A Govt. of India initiative). Selected best ideas were given incubation and acceleration to convert idea in successful Startup.
