High-quality craftsmanship technique and thorough quality assurance system①High purity/robust & uniform interior quality
High purity has been made possible using carefully selected raw materials, through the
integrated process of manufacturing from blast furnace to converter furnace.
Moreover, We aim to control the composition of non-metallic inclusions, lower the number
of harmful inclusions, and control segregation, through our high-performance refinery
processing facilities and continuous casting facilities, together with our advanced operating
technology and know-how.
②Complete assurance of the quality of surface and interior products We assure the quality of surface and interior products, suitable for your purposes, through
thorough process control from steel making to the rolling process, by conducting magnetic
particle inspections, eddy current examinations, in addition to using state-of-the-art
inspection equipment such as supersonic detectors.
③High dimensional accuracy/shaping State-of-the-art rolling mills/cooling beds have been adopted, providing excellent
performance in shaping/dimension/straightness.
④Control of metallographic structure Metal structure control, suitable for the processing method or intended purpose, has been
made possible by our variety of controlled cooling and heat treatment facilities.
Plentiful product menu In order to respond to diversifying needs/upgrading in various fields, the development of
new products and improvement of various properties is proactively implemented, creating
plentiful steel types/sizes for customers.
The ability to suggest solutions which combine steel materials and the construction method
For the effective use of steel materials, we suggest solutions from aspects of both the steel
materials and the construction method by making excellent use of our collective strength, and
will strive to solve problems together with our customers.
Stable supply by multi-mill systems We have a plurality of iron sources and rolling lines all over Japan as well as a flexible
response capability towards supplies even in the event of risks such as supply shortages,
disasters, etc.

Application examples
Wire rods for cold headed (forged) products have been widely used because they can be manufactured into relatively simple shapes such as bolts and rollers with high accuracy and high efficiency. In recent years, products of more complicated shapes have been used by combining extrusion, cutting, etc. with faster processing speeds, causing the processing conditions to become exceptionally severe for materials. Consequently, wire rods for cold heading require excellent processing ability and stable product quality. In other words:(1) They must be homogeneous and have excellent deformability.
(2) They must have minimal processing load and the required strength/hardness as an end product must be obtainable.
(3) They must not have surface defects or inclusion, which may result in processing cracks, etc.
We manufacture CHQ wire rods of various types of steel that meet such demands, under strict quality control, which have been appreciated by many of our domestic and overseas customers. Furthermore, developing new products such as various wire rods without heat-treatment (SCS and NHF) has contributed to the lowering costs for our customers.
Cold headed (forged) products
Springs are one of the representative uses of high carbon steel wire rods. Our wire rods for springs are used for furniture springs, mechanical springs, suspension springs for automobiles, and furthermore, for valve springs which require top product quality. Our products are highly evaluated and appreciated.
Springs
Galvanized steel wires are used as cables for suspension bridges. Our high-strength piano wires are used as the base metal for large bridges with center spans of 2,000m or longer, including the Akashi Strait Bridge.
PWS (Parallel wire strand)
We manufacture various types of covered electrodes and wire rods for micro wires for gas shield welding and submerged-arc welding.
Materials for welding
Steel radial tires are excellent in safety and are very economical, making them very popular. We have received high acclaim both domestically and overseas, as one of the most reliable makers of wire rods for steel cords.
Wire rods for steel tire cords
Saw wires are high strength superfine wires with a wire diameter of approx. 120 microns, and silicon wafers for solar power generation are used when cutting semiconductors. The wire rods we manufacture for saw wires reduce the inclusion to the utmost limit at which snapping may be caused when wire drawing or during the cutting process. Our products are highly trusted and appreciated both domestically and overseas.
Saw wires
Free-cutting steel has been widely adopted to improve the efficiency of our cutting process. We have a wide range of free-cutting steel for various purposes, such as sulfur type, sulfur compound type, and steel type for mechanical structure. Furthermore, we have developed and put into practical use lead-free steel that maintains the efficiency of cutting and processing without using lead. In particular, our prompt establishment of application technologies for continuous casting in order to obtain homogeneity and stable cutting has been very well received.
