BIOGRAPHYStephen Hawking was born on 8th January 1942 in Oxford, England.

At the age of 21, he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

He is a theoretical physicist and mathematician.

He did a university degree in Cosmology at Oxford.

He has written a lot of books. His first book is “A Brief History of Time”.

He has received numerous awards but he has never won the Nobel Prize.

HIS THEORIES AND ACHIEVEMENTSHawking, together with Roger Penrose showed that Einstein’s theory of

General Relativity implies that space and time must have a beginning at

the Big Bang and an end within black holes.

From that time he developed his most famous theory that explains that

black holes can emit radiation.

He has also worked on the problem

of quantum gravity.

WHY DID WE CHOOSE STEPHEN HAWKING?Because he is a fundamental part of science, also for his ability to cope with his illness and for never giving up.

Another reason is that he is one of the most important scientists that exist and for his great knowledge.
