Exodus 20 v 1 – 17
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS:
1. God comes first
2. Only worship God
3. Don’t disrespect God
4. Have a day off each week to rest and worship
5. Respect your parents
6. Don’t murder people
7. Only have sex with your husband/wife
8. Don’t take what isn’t yours
9. Don’t lie about people or falsely accuse them
10. Be content with what you have without jealousy
… were spoken by the audible voice of God
… were carved onto two stone tablets by the hand of God
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS:
… are the foundation stone of the Old Testament / Covenant
… were given in a context of grace
… are all restated by Jesus and enlarged on within the New Testament / Covenant
