If You get close to nervous and aggressive dog, don’t try to run and escape, turn around, stay cool, don’t yell and back up slowly!!!
If dog bite you, immediately wash the wound with water and soap, try to remember the dog and immediately inform your parents and visit the doctor!!!

• According to the counted dogs, 586 in
2010 and 440 in 2014, there is 25 %
decrease of the number of dogs in city of
Skopje and 17 % increase on CNVR dogs
• Municipalities have legal obligation to
establish a proper stray dog population
control
Legislation
• New legal obligations is incorporated in
the draft text of the new law on animal
welfare based upon the previous
experience on stray dog control
Future activities/New law on animal welfare
• According to the requirements of the new law on
animal welfare, municipalities is responsible to
promote a responsible ownership and to issue
and to adopt a strategy for proper stray dog
population control with collaboration with NGO’s
• Municipal shelters/local government should
collaborate with NGO’s for protection of animals

• Registration of dog breeders (anybody who keep
two or more reproductive capable females)
