• Desire
James 1:14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

GOD’s Word tells us… Y19
Romans 14:19 Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.
Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
Matthew 12:36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. 37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

2 Corinthians 10:10 “For his letters,” they say, “are weighty and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.”
2 Corinthians 10:11 Let such a person consider this, that what we are in word by letters when we are absent, such we will also be in deed when we are present.

Online GamingExcerpt from Dec. 2013 article on Forbes.com
I asked my eight year old to explain how Minecraft works. I wanted to know what an average day in his seemingly endless world of Minecraft servers looks like. He told me how he signs on to certain servers first, checking out what’s going on there, before moving somewhere else to build his own scenarios that random block-headed strangers can visit. I asked him if people were mean to each other on Minecraft. “Sometimes,” he said, “like calling people names and using curse words and wrecking people’s stuff.” It occurs to me that multi-player Minecraft is basically a huge, virtual version of the school playground. We as parents should be talking to our kids about the games so that we can give them the proper vocabulary and tools for navigating their way through virtual and real social scenarios.

When gaming online, you will likely interact with some other players who will post obscene, racist, sexual and violent remarks. Same goes for many online forums.Teach your kids good “netiquette”. Talk to them about how to be nice to other people when texting or online, how to respond when someone else is acting inappropriately, and the importance of account privacy and information security. Be Involved…

Researchers from Arizona State University, say that “Parents miss a huge opportunity when they walk away from playing video games with their kids. Often parents don’t understand that many
video games are meant to be shared and can teach young people about science, literacy and problem solving. Gaming with their children also offers parents countless ways to insert their own ‘teaching moment.’”
Video games can be an opportunity to open conversations with your kids.

#4 – Do not take any cell phone pictures that involve nudity or partial nudity. They are illegal and classified as child pornography, which is a felony in most states. Many young people have been denied college scholarships, lost job opportunities, or have faced criminal prosecution and even placed on sex offender registries because they misused their cell phone. What you intend to send to one person MAY EASILY END UP ON THE SCREENS OF MANY.

• Over 900 new apps are submitted to Apple’s App Store each day.
• Approximately 830 new apps are added daily to the Android Market.
Let’s Talk Apps…
An app is short for “application.” For our discussion, an app is a program or software that runs on a mobile device. App categories include: Games, Books, Education, Lifestyle, Music, News, Social Networking, Travel, Weather, Etc. Most of these tools can be fun, educational and helpful. But some apps can be misused or dangerous.18

Don’t be afraid to ask for or take “your
child’s” phone.
I trust my kids. I don't trust OTHER people's kids.My kids know the phones they use are MINE. They are not to expect privacy using MY PHONES. They know at any time, I can read through their messages. It isn't their right to have a phone, it is a PRIVILEDGE.
Don’t you trust your kid?

Proverbs 4:14 Do not enter the path of the wicked, And do not walk in the way of evil. 15 Avoid it, do not travel on it; Turn away from it and pass on. 16 For they do not sleep unless they have done evil; And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall. 17 For they eat the bread of wickedness, And drink the wine of violence. 18 But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. 19 The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble. 26 Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established. 27 Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove your foot from evil.

Monitoring and safeguarding are helpful, but will NEVER be a substitute
for teaching and communicating.
Christians are instructed to teach their children the Bible and today that includes teaching them how to apply Bible wisdom to modern media. Phone/Internet safety are just like any other kind of safety. You don’t just teach your child how to cross the street one time, you tell them to “look both ways” for years!
