• Valuation of financial transactions from the view of both accounting and risk (especially risk indicators and sensitivity measures)
• Parallel accounting and hedge accounting with corresponding exposure management
• Integrated limit management to recognize and avoid default risks

SAP® Treasury & Risk ManagementFor the financing and hedging of your
operative business
One of the main tasks in Treasury is the hedging of
the operative business and ensuring optimal liquidi-
ty for the company. Often, details for the financial
instruments deployed are only managed in simple
documents without system support. The solution
SAP® Treasury & Risk Management provides a se-
cure and efficient method for managing all financial
instruments (from short-term financing to strategic
investments) and delivers an overview of the entire
life cycle of an operative business – from the crea-
tion of receivables or payables to hedging the cash
flows in your treasury department. This approach of
SAP® helps identify risks earlier, improve control,
maximize finance potential and ultimately ensures
optimal liquidity levels.
The Transaction Manager is the centrepiece of the
SAP® Treasury & Risk Management. Here you can
process all types of financial transactions including
money market & loans, foreign exchange, derivati-
ves, securities and commodities. Parallel accounting
and hedge accounting functionalities are the ele-
mentary components of this solution. The following
three Analyzers constitute the Transaction Manager.
The Market Risk Analyzer facilitates the calculation
of present values and risk indicators such as dura-
tion, convexity and BPV to VaR models using the
three common methods (historic simulation, vari-
ance-covariance approach, Monte Carlo simulati-
on). This helps companies keep an eye on the risks
from operative cash flows as well as from hedging
and investment activities in money and capital mar-
kets. Modern options for the simulation, such as
market data shifts and market data scenarios, allow
the modelling of what-if analyses and worst-case
scenarios.

The Portfolio Analyzer helps measure the perfor-
mance, i.e. it exactly analyzes the success of invest-
ments made. For the analysis, so-called performance
indicators such as TWRR, MWRR and approximati-
on methods are calculated. In addition, it serves the
comparison with target results. It also enables the
itemization of the performance by the different cau-
ses, i.e. to what extent the specific portfolio items
have contributed to the overall performance. The
portfolio structure, with which you can categorize
investments, is the basis for these analyses. Analy-
ses can be carried out both hierarchically for port-
folios as well as by asset category across portfolios.
The Credit Risk Analyzer focuses on measuring,
analyzing and controlling counterparty risks. In a
first step, special risks for financial transactions of a
company are covered. In order to perform this active
controlling, the Credit Risk Analyzer includes a risk
control through limits and flexible limit management
with online monitoring and an extensive reporting.
This allows corporate executives to recognize and
avoid default risks as soon as they arise.

SAP® Cash ManagementFor an optimum control of your cash resources
Ensuring liquidity, bridging gaps and investing sur-
plus profitably are the most important tasks of a
Cash Manager. A reliable, group-wide overview
of all cash flows is thus essential. SAP® Cash Ma-
nagement supports companies by providing central
processing of all relevant cash flow data from the
different business areas. The module automatically
utilizes incoming data from bank statements as well
as forecasts from SAP® Financial Accounting, the
SAP® Subledgers (SD, MM, etc.) and SAP® applica-
tions (SAP® Treasury & Risk Management, SAP® In-
House Cash, etc.). Finally, data automatically feed
a system-based cash management position and the
liquidity forecast. Hence, you always have access to
accurate and up-to-date liquidity reports by banks,
countries, currencies and subsidiaries. Such a cen-
tral overview is the most important tool for you to
control cash flows in an ideal manner and to ensure
short-term financial solvency of your company.
ADVANTAGES SAP® CASH
MANAGEMENT
• Automated processing and control ofpayments
• Information and forecasts from numerous SAP® components (FI, SD, MM, PP, TRM, IHC, etc.)
• Central overview and accurate forecasts using the cash management position
• Short-term to medium-term liquidity forecast for all company codes
• Analyses and liquidity reports (via standard reports and SAP® BI)
• Optimum control of cash flows
• Ensuring short-term solvency of the company
7
SAP® Liquidity PlannerFor ensuring solvency in your company
Liquidity planning is an important control element
for companies. Reliable data and rolling plan scena-
rios help you identify financial gaps or surpluses in
due time and to react on them. The SAP® Liquidi-
ty Planner provides the key tools for this: liquidity
analysis (actuals) and liquidity planning (forecasts).
The assignment of actuals feeds on data from SAP®
Financial Accounting and determines cash flows
from operative systems by source and application of
funds. The operative cash flows can be shown by
liquidity positions specifically defined for your com-
pany. The data determined are automatically trans-
ferred to the database integrated in SAP® (Business
Warehouse) within the SAP® NetWeaver BI, and are
available there for analyses and reports. The fore-
casts generated with the Liquidity Planner can be
integrated by using SAP® NetWeaver BI or SAP®
Business Planning & Consolidation. Companies can
use the forecasts to generate plans, prognoses, plan
versions or rolling planning scenarios on a central or
decentralized level. In this way, companies always
have the most up-to-date data available for an effec-
tive planning.
ADVANTAGES SAP® LIQUIDITY
PLANNER
• Reliable analysis and planning of liquidity
• Prompt assignment of actuals on the basis of the actual source and application of funds (e.g. for determining a direct cash flow state-ment)
• Analysis of cash flows on the basis of bank statements and balancing entries in the finan-cial accounting and bookkeeping
• User-definable forecasts
• Central/decentralized liquidity planning possible
• Planning can be performed via connection to SAP® NetWeaver BI or SAP® BOPC

SAP® Business Objects Planning & ConsolidationA platform for budgeting, planning, consolida-
tion and reports
Companies have to generate plans, calculate requi-
red budgets and generate reports – everything in
compliance with increasingly complex international
guidelines. SAP® Business Objects Planning & Con-
solidation (SAP® BOPC) provides the ideal platform
that allows standardized processes in full compli-
ance with auditing requirements. With this platform,
staff members can work together more closely and
thus create a more efficient planning, budgeting and
consolidation. Templates and entry screens are pro-
vided for reporting as well as self-service functions
that can be adjusted specifically to each company.
The functionalities support both top-down and bot-
tom-up planning. The primary user interface to be
used in SAP® BOPC is Microsoft Excel; further func-
tionalities are integrated from Word and PowerPoint
for collecting, evaluating and storing financial data.
Moreover, you can easily generate performance ma-
nagement reports. The component SAP® BOPC is
available on the basis of SAP® NetWeaver BI as well
as an independent MS SQL database based on the
Microsoft platform.
In-House Cash
SAP® In-House CashFor establishing a corporate in-house bank to
optimize payment transaction processes
Many cash flows, many companies, many bank ac-
counts, and many currencies; all this often results
in complex corporate payment transactions. SAP®
In-House Cash provides an ideal solution for centra-
lizing internal and external payment transactions for
a group and for making it more effective: you can set
up one or more virtual banks (In-House Cash Center)
in terms of a Payment Factory approach with which
you can process internal payment transactions by
settling them across borders and currencies cost-ef-
fectively (cash pooling, netting). Thus, the number
of cash flows is reduced and fewer external bank ac-
counts are required. You profit from minimized bank
fees and reduced exchange rate effects. Overall,
you have a better control over your payment tran-
sactions and you achieve a standardization of your
ADVANTAGES SAP® BUSINESS

LIDATION

• Less business risk due to increased trans-parency
• Compliance with international regulations
• Templates and user-definable functions for reports
• Intuitive user interfaces on the basis of the known Microsoft applications (Excel, Power-Point)
ADVANTAGES SAP® IN-HOUSE CASH
• Central management of your group‘s internal and external payment transactions
• Reduction of external bank accounts and fees
• Saving process costs
• Standardized processes and improved control of payment transactions
• Support of numerous processes: internal payments (between internal trading part-ners), external payments (Payment Factory) and local payments (conversion of foreign payments to domestic payments)

business processes. In the In-House Cash Center
you can manage intragroup current accounts in any
currency, and use functions such as the calculation
of interest, charging of fees, granting of credit lines
and generation of bank statements. SAP® In-House
Cash is seamlessly integrated within SAP® Financial
Accounting and SAP® Cash Management.
SAP® Bank CommunicationManagementFor an improved bank communication directly
from SAP®
Often, numerous technically different connections
with many banks evolve over time. This can make
bank communication confusingly complex. SAP®
Bank Communication Management can help: you
can group your payments according to company-
specific requirements and process them in bund-
les. You gain transparency and save costs. With this
solution, in combination with the SAP® Integration
Package for SWIFT, you may not even need to use
external bank communication solutions at all. In ad-
dition, specific multi-level approval processes that
can be defined for different users ensure compli-
ance with auditing requirements for your payment
transactions. A monitoring functionality is available
for controlling the entire life cycle of a payment.
Here, several clerks can query the status of a pay-
ment at the same time, receive status messages and
edit them in a coordinated approach. The Integra-
tion of data from SAP® FI and SAP® In-House Cash
contributes to the centralization of your bank com-
munication.
ADVANTAGES SAP® BANK
COMMUNICATION MANAGEMENT
• Centralized and uniform bank communication
• SWIFT infrastructure can replace a mixed system landscape in the field of bank commu-nication
• Transparent cash flows
• Approval processes for payments in compli-ance with auditing requirements
• Multi-level control mechanisms
• Cost-savings through the bundling of pay-ment orders
• Integration of data from SAP® Financial Ac-counting (FI) and SAP® In-House Cash (SAP® IHC)

SAP® Credit ManagementFor reducing payment defaults
The customers‘ payment histories can vary signifi-cantly. Customers paying late or not at all can lead
to financial bottlenecks for companies. In order to
avoid this and, instead, to ensure profitability of the
company, SAP® Credit Management helps you ana-
lyze your customers‘ credit history. In this way you can better assess your customers‘ payment perfor-
mance and take the necessary countermeasures in
due time. With the SAP® Credit Management com-
ponent, you can centrally create credit profiles for
your business partners. This provides you with all
the information in regard to credit history and pay-
ment performance, loans and credit limits in one
central location, which you can revert to when re-
viewing orders. Customers can be grouped by de-
fault risk. Negative credit limit evaluations are auto-
matically fed into a to-do list that needs to be further
processed. In addition to this effective control me-
chanism, you can also use the component to eva-
luate your overall credit portfolio. To this end, the
SAP® Credit Management component is connected
to SAP® BI Credit Manager Portal.

ADVANTAGES SAP® DISPUTE
MANAGEMENT
• Uniform and up-to-date overview of all dis-putes
• Direct connection to Accounts Receivable (SAP® FI-AR)
• Interdepartmental processing of disputes
• High degree of automation
• Central determination of causes and analysis (with SAP® BI)
• Automated generation and sending of requi-red correspondence
SAP® Dispute ManagementFor processing AR-related customer comp-
laints and disputes
Customer complaints, partial payments or outstan-
ding invoices often lead to many manual tasks in
order to resolve and post them. Since in most ca-
ses several different corporate departments are
involved in resolving such disputes, the sharing of
information is often a complex and time-consuming
task. With SAP® Dispute Management you can use
a system-based and interdepartmental solution that
significantly reduces the manual tasks. Thanks to
the integrated Case Management Organizer and
a direct connection to SAP® Financial Accounting
(SAP® FI-AR) all disputes are centrally documen-
ted. Thus, all clerks involved in resolving the case
always have the same and the most up-to-date in-
formation available on the respective dispute cases.
Colleagues, but also business partners and custo-
mers, can be included seamlessly in resolving these
issues if necessary. An analysis function connected
via SAP® NetWeaver Business Intelligence enables a
simple determination of the causes of a dispute and
can provide valuable feedback for improving pro-
duct quality, delivery conditions and customer loy-
alty. With the help of the integrated communication
interface SAPconnect, you can also generate and
send any required correspondence directly from the
system.

ADVANTAGES SAP® COLLECTIONS
MANAGEMENT
• Create and control collection strategies
• Automated generation of to-do lists per staff member
• System-based prioritization of tasks
• Monitoring of processing status ofreceivables
• Success and efficiency analysis of receivables management (with SAP® BI)
SAP® Collections ManagementFor a professional AR management
Bad debt losses always pose a business risk and
bring about high costs. Hence, it is sometimes vi-
tal for companies as well as of strategic advantage
to collect outstanding receivables as promptly as
possible. The SAP® Collections Management com-
ponent provides a professional solution with which
you can define company-specific collection strate-
gies and control them centrally. Due to the direct
connection to SAP® FI-AR, the system can automa-
tically generate to-do lists for each AR management
clerk based on the defined strategy and prioritizes
each receivable according to amount, default risk
and other factors. In this way, each staff member
can process the most important receivables first in
order to secure the cash flow for the company. This
gives you an up-to-date overview of all receivables
and their status at any time.

SAP® Biller DirectFor electronic billing and payment
Preparing invoices, printing, sending and posting
them – these are time-consuming tasks that also
bring about costs. Many companies are therefore
switching to electronic billing. SAP® Biller Direct
provides ideal functionalities for this: you can ge-
nerate invoices electronically with data from SAP®
FI-AR and make them available to customers in an
online portal. You can either set up a read-only
authorization in this portal or allow your customers
to also view their account data, pay invoices or
change master data. The integration with the SAP®
Dispute Management and the SAP® Cash Manage-
ment enables the interactive processing of disputes
and the updating of the cash management position
and the liquidity forecast. It will be easier for your
customers to pay or contest invoices. With SAP®
Biller Direct you improve your customer relation-
ships and reduce DSO.
ADVANTAGES SAP® BILLER DIRECT
