Proteomics and Genomics LaboratoryStudents will be able to explore biological processes at the molecular level,
such as translation and transcription o genetic materials that inluence
cell dierentiation, motility, viral inections and microbial inectivity and
susceptibility to drugs. The acilities allow research and experiments using
the tools o bioinormatics, molecular cloning and protein expression to aid
discovery o new products ranging rom drugs to vaccines to molecular
diagnostic kits and novel bacterial species or bio-mining.
Natural Products LaboratoryStudents will learn to apply basic and advanced techniques in extraction
and separation o natural products and to elucidate chemical structures rom
spectroscopic data. This laboratory complements other core acilities to
enable research on bio-active compounds, or example, anti-microbials,anti-virals and anti-tumour agents.
Tissue Culture & Bio-imaging FacilityThe core o this acility is the tissue culture room that houses the

them with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue undergraduate degrees

processing chemistry, biology, physics o ood and human nutrition.
It ocuses on understanding how diets and nutrition aect peoples
health; using science and technology to create new, wholesome
ood products; and enhancing existing ood production,
processing and management systems.
Taylors Bachelor o Science (Hons) (Food Science & Nutrition)* is a
3 year programme that emphasises the science and technology
o ood creation, processing and preservation, as well as the use onutrition to improve human health. This comprehensive programme
equips students with scientic knowledge to develop innovative, sae
and healthy ood products; ability to advise and provide nutritional

Biomedical Science is the application o natural sciences principles
to medicine, be it or research, health observation or treatment.
It involves examining the human body, organs, tissues, cells, genes
and molecular interactions in an eort to improve health and prevent
or cure diseases. A broad eld, biomedical science includes the
study o many areas, ranging rom immunology to biomedical
instrumentation and technology. The growing sophistication o
illnesses and treatments in the 21st century has made biomedical
science a key driver in modern medicine.
Taylors Bachelor o Biomedical Science (Hons) is a 3 year
programme that exposes students to the latest inormation and
technology in medicine, health sciences and biomedical science
research. They will explore a number o essential topics in depth,
which include anatomy, biochemistry, clinical chemistry, genetics,
immunology, microbiology, pathology, pharmacology, physiology

Clinical Laboratory TechnologistsThey use sophisticated diagnostic equipment and computers to perorm all types o medical

create devices and procedures that solve health-related problems and assist in examining
biological systems; or example, imaging systems, articial limbs and cochlear implants.
GeneticistsThey examine genes to discover how they interact, evolve and duplicate. Through their
