2. Diatermi/kompres panas/dingin Tujuannya adalah mengatasi nyeri dengan

mengatasi inflamasi dan spasme otot. Pada keadaan akut biasanya dapat digunakan kompres dingin, termasuk bila terdapat edema. Untuk nyeri kronik dapat digunakan kompres panas maupun dingin.

5.Medikamentosa

Acetaminophen

such as Tylenol, is a great first-line of

defense. However, it's not for everyone. While

acetaminophen is a good painkiller, it won't

reduce your inflammation.

• NSAID NSAIDs relieve pain and reduce inflammation,

which is how they differ from acetaminophen. Examples of NSAIDs

include aspirin, ibuprofen (eg, Advil), or naproxen

(eg, Aleve). Some NSAIDs are not suitable for those

who have a history of heart attack or stomach ulcers.

Epidural steroid injections Epidural steroid injections contain corticosteroids, which are potent anti-inflammatory

agents that quickly relieve pain caused by compressed nerves. Injected within the epidural nerve space, the

medication can offer significant pain reduction with the first dose, but it may take a few days to work. No more than 3 injections are usually

given in a year.

Kontraindikasi

1.Diskectomy

When the soft, gelatinous central portion of an intervertebral disk is forced through a weakened part of a disk, it is called a slipped disk. Most slipped disks (herniated disks) take place in the lumbar area of the spine. Slipped disks are one of the most common causes of lower back pain. The mainstay of treatment is an initial period of rest with pain and anti-inflammatory medications followed by physical therapy. If pain and symptoms persist, surgery to remove the herniated portion of the intervertebral disk may be needed.
