• The BOD and National Office have taken a serious look at existing programs and expenditures; many savings have been attained
• Plans have been put in place that would allow CAPA to reach sustainability by 2019/20
Savings
• We identified areas for cost-savings:
• We reduced our office space and were able to cut our monthly rental expenses by 50%
• Reduced printing costs and translation services
• Going green with the JAAPA
• Reduced staff and BOD travel
• Reduced our marketing and communication expenses
Revenue
DND Funding • Contribution decreased by 11% and to $0 is 2016/17
Revenues are up by 30% over 2014
• Membership Dues

Supporting CAPA
• Tough pill to swallow, but a fee increase is needed to ensure our success
• Membership fees are tax deductible. When claimed, most PAs should get 50% of fees back
• After carefully considering scenarios Board is recommending this increase
• By voting in favour of this increase you are ensuring the sustainability of the association and more importantly your profession
• We will continue to look for cost savings and additional sponsors
Return on Investment
By investing in CAPA you are:
• Ensuring there is a national voice advocating on your behalf
• Supporting your fellow PAs and helping to create opportunities
• Helping to grow and advance the profession now and for years to come
• Accessing valuable benefits that can protect and assist you in your practice and personal life
Motion
As recommended by the CAPA BOD be it resolved that the membership dues be increased as referenced in AMM 08 item 8, Appendix B
Moved by Chris Rhule, President
