The Laws of the Good LifeA sermon series by

Servant Brian K. Woodson, Sr.

For the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has

made me free from the law of sin and death…

Romans 8:2

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; And I pray God your

whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless unto the

coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1Thessalonians 5:23

Who We Are and Why the Laws Work!

Sermon 6

How many of the Ten Commandments can you name?

The scripture has it correct but most of us get it backwards…

We are concerned with our

Body… Soul… then Spirit.

Scriptural Definitions:

Your Body = your parts – aka Flesh Soul = conscious mind - thoughts Spirit = the essential you – the life

beneath the thoughts; How you feel and what makes you

feel when you feel.

Evil is the everyday disposition of a world intent on doing

things according to anything other than what God requires!

If you continue through life paying primary attention to your

Body – Your soul and Spirit will suffer and die.

If you continue through life paying primary attention to your

Soul – Your Spirit will be deceived and your body misused.

If you continue through life paying primary attention to your

Spirit – Your whole Body Soul and Spirit will thrive!

Your body, soul and spirit each have:

APPETITES – ASPIRATIONS –

APPARATUS

Appetite = is what is craved

Aspiration = the desired result

Apparatus = how it work

Your body, sol and Spirit each have their own; appetite, aspiration and apparatus

The Ten Commandments can be reduced to two:Love God, (1-4)

Love your neighbor (5-10)

The Ten Commandments are the instructions to those who want their Spirit to thrive – Their soul to be satisfied with good things and – Their body

to be strong and responsive all the days of their life.
