Sept. 24th- President Eisenhower

1.) Sends in Army to escort black students to school at request of city Mayor. Army stayed all year.

2.) Federalized the Arkansas National Guard (Faubus no longer controls them)

Lunch Counter Sit-Ins

1960- Greensboro, North Carolina

4 black students sit at counter even when told they will not be served.
