Mrs Thompson Succumbs to Fever

McCook was deeply touched Tuesdayafternoon by the announcement of thedeath of Delia wife of Harmon Thomp ¬

son which sad event transpired atabout half past two oclock after a ling ¬

ering illness of about four weeks dura-tion

Mr and Mrs Thompson arrivedfrom Salt Lake City Utah about amonth ago Mrs Thompson then beingunwell typhoid fever developed andwas finally the cause of her death aftermuch suffering The funeral serviceswere held in tho Methodist church Fri ¬

day afternoon at two oclockconducted by Rev L II Shumate alargo congregation of sorrowing andKympathetic friends attending the ser ¬

vices and thus expressing a final tributeto tho memory of one gone on beforeTho burial services were held underauspices of the Degree of Honor inter ¬

Faribault Minn August 7th 1856Moved to Floyd county Iowa at twoyears of age Was married to HarmonThompson in 1873 and in 1878 came toThayer countv Nebraska and 12 yearslater to Superior In 1891 she moved toMcCook which was her home until earlyin this year when she and her husbandwent to California where they spentmost of the summer Deceased unitedwith tho Methodist church during herresidence in Superior

The church was beautifully and ap-

decorated with flowers etcfor the funeral services

A telegram Tuesday announced thodeath of Mrs Marie Rooney Mondaynight November 24th 1902 in Brookfield Missouri at tho home of herdaughter Mrs Daniel Nichols Theremains arrived here Wednesday morn-

on 13 and were directly taken toCalvary cemetery for burial religiousservices having been held in Brookfieldbefore the shipment of the remains

Deceased was bora in the county Leitram Ireland February 2 1829 and wasnear her 74th year when death cameShe was the widow of Lawrence RooneySr who died in our city January 221896 in his 79th year The old folksfirst came to McCook in the fall of 1888The past few years the mother has beenmaking her home with her son Larryand daughter Mrs Nichols
